You’re probably right. If so, hopefully Comer can get to the bottom of it.

I watched a video of a former SEAL and one of the things he said was that the police and SS were on different radio channels so the communications were all screwed up.

Obviously the SS snipers on the roof behind Trump knew about the shooter and it’s claimed they communicated to ask permission to take the shooter out. If the SS people close to Trump were able to hear communications from their own they should have known immediately to get Trump under cover - when a sniper right behind you is requesting permission to take out an assassin.

“police and SS were on different radio channels so the communications were all screwed up.”

Even if true that explains nothing—because the SS folks outside the stage were notified by witnesses that a guy with a gun was on the roof.

The SS internal comms had to be either sabotaged, jammed or stopped by a central comm location—regardless of what was happening with the local LEO.

re: “ he said was that the police and SS were on different radio channels so the communications were all screwed up.”

[Expression of disgust here b/c poster is painting with a broad brush]

NORMALLY a command and control center handles this by coordinating the different LE agencies involved, Local PD, Sheriff and USSS, each with their own digital P25 radio systems and EACH with their own encryption ‘key’ loaded into each radio via a key loader. Rather than mass reprogramming of radios (with new trunk talk groups) the Command a Control center, again, coordinates activities between radio systems and any coordination between groups. THIS is also an advantage BECAUSE so much traffic is routine anyway - so ONE channel is not tied up with each agency doing routine ‘ops’ (like reporting on station, etc) for that special activity that day.

In the past (don’t know about now) USSS has been on VHF High-band and local LE has migrated to trunked 800 or 700 MHz municipal systems that have other users like Streets and Water and even garbage collection user groups.

There are special radio interface ‘boxes’ (several RX/TX capable radios tied cross-channel) offered by Harris and Motorola than ca virtually ‘tie’ two or more disparate radio systems together, it would be fair to assume they would use one or two of those for at least ONE common channel between USSS, Local PD and the Sheriff for use as needed.
