As the investigation into Saturday’s assassination attempt against former President and newly-minted GOP nominee Donald Trump at a Pennsylvania rally intensifies, the Federal Bureau of Investigation announced Monday that they have successfully gained access to the suspected shooter’s phone.
They have not revealed what information they’ve found on the device, but it is likely to contain a trove of information about the deceased suspect, 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks.
The FBI has not detailed any of the information contained in the phone. The agency began its investigation into Crooks and the shooting shortly after the Saturday attack. Agents went to Crooks' home and the home of his parents on Sunday and Monday. They are investigating the incident as an assassination attempt and possible domestic terrorism.

Does anyone think we will ever know what is on that phone?. They will hold on to that information tighter than they have held on to the Hale Christian school shooter's manifesto.
In other info, the shooter purchased a 5ft ladder on Friday at Home Depot. That is one short building!
"Thomas Matthew Crooks, the shooter at the Trump rally, went to the rifle range at the Clairton Sportsmen’s Club in Pennsylvania on Friday, according to a senior law enforcement official.
On Saturday morning, the shooter went to Home Depot and bought a five-foot ladder before going to the gun store and purchasing the 50 rounds of ammunition, the source said.
Later that afternoon, Crooks drove to the rally site in Butler, where CNN previously reported he was spotted by local law enforcement acting suspiciously by the magnetometers outside the event, and then not spotted again until he was perched on that roof.
Authorities are still working toward retracing all of his activities in the days leading up to the shooting and have asked the public for help in building out the full picture of his movements. "

Depending on the nature of his manifesto — if he has a manifesto — we may never hear about it.

They need to delete all the texts about their payments to him.
Uh, this was an assassination attempt. Why are they announcing anything related to their investigation? What purpose does it serve to let us know they cracked the murderer’s phone?
I would think this would be an exception. If not in law at least in flicking decency.
Bet they’d do it if an assassin killed Biden.

So he not only waltzed in with a rifle, but his own ladder too? And none of crackerjack SS or FBI or local LEO's noticed? Riiiggghhhtt.
I recommend that people who are interested in privacy should not enable face recognition or fingerprint recognition on their phones
