Seems like the SS sniper had the assassin in his sights. Didn’t take more than a second or two to take him out. So maybe they couldn’t respond quickly enough on the ground.

This video was going viral on the internet yesterday and took NBC until today to reluctantly publish it.
I was watching Hannity last night and he kept showing the video of the ‘brave SS folks’ dog piling Trump on the stage.
I was yelling at the TV: “Hannity, when are you going to show the video of the people yelling at the shooter on the roof?” “Where were your “brave SS folks” when these people were yelling at the shooter?”
Wait? I thought that it was the secret service who was trained to spot a security threat, not spectators?????

I don’t think the SS snipers could have seen the shooter until the shooter stuck his head over the ridge of the building and began shooting.
It was a police sharp shooter, not SS.
The counter-snipers were not Secret Service, but part of the local police department. They even have the word, “POLICE,” on their tactical vests.
There was a cop who climbed up the ladder to confront the shooter. When he/she saw him he pointed his rifle at them and the officer quickly climbed back down the ladder. Why didn’t they take their pistol out and start shooting the SOB? Why didn’t they make a radio call to alert everyone and get Trump out of there?

Well good for them. They had the shooter in their sights.
Not perfect but it is possible that it might have turned out worse. Thank God it didn’t.
They had him in their sights about 42 seconds before he took the shots. Then it took them 16 seconds to return fire with one shot after the assassin fired the first round. They gave the guy nearly a minute to get Trump!
The police officer that climbed up to the top of the ladder and then climbed back down after the assassin aimed his rifle at him/her. They did not do anything to stop the guy, nor does it seem any radio call was made to let the Secret Service know what the situation was and to get Trump out of there.
Failure after failure after failure after failure by the cops and Secret Service.
There is probably a protocol... investigate first and then shoot to kill. 42 seconds is enough time to sight in and be ready and that might have been what happened.
Surprising that it took 16 seconds to return fire. From the videos that I saw, it seemed to be quicker than 16 seconds.

I’ve been to Trump rallies and snipers are everywhere, including in the hills surrounding.
Security is actually visible for miles before you even get to a rally venue.
I felt safe, as well, unconcerned for The President’s safety

The building 20 feet behind the dead dude is actually one story higher and begs the question “Why wasn’t a team on top of those buildings?” We know the answer.
Moreover, there is a 90 foot water directly to the east and overlooking all the buildings where dead was and he would have been easily seen if a team was on that water tower.

So… a guy just decides to show up at a rally and take a potshot at PDJT… and he looks around for a spot that wasn’t covered by USSS and… well whadaya know! He’s in luck. A handy barn roof with no-one on it. And his rifle happens to be sighted in for the distance to the stage.
Now, let’s just see if he can get up there with a rifle without being spotted. Well whaddaya know! Another lucky break! Wait… he was spotted and pointed out to security, Well whaddaya know! Three times lucky! Security blew it off.
Oops. His luck ran out. He was shot deader’n a doornail. Tsk, tsk. Too bad. Can’t question him now.

Yeah, from video I saw it looked like the police sniper had the killer locked on scope but didn’t fire until after the killer did. Maybe he was given orders not to fire unless... But he did fire and it seems less than 16 seconds to me. Then there were more shots heard. Not sure where they came from, or which one was from the killer, or which shot or whom actually neutralized the target.
Yes, interesting. The police had him in his sights. So maybe they were moving in on him. Maybe that is why he started firing... he could see the police moving towards him.
Either way, the police probably did their best. But I am no expert.
