Former President Donald Trump will announce his vice presidential pick Monday, he told Fox this morning.
Trump has long teased who his running mate will be and has yet to reveal who it is, or specifically comment on who is strongly in consideration. Sources close to the Trump campaign previously told The Post that Sen. JD Vance (R-OH) and North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum are his top contenders, as well as Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.).
His announcement lines up with the first day of the Republican National Convention, and comes two days after a gunman shot Trump in the ear at a Pennsylvania rally, nearly missing his head.

Please God, do not let it be Nikki Haley. She was not invited to the convention until after Trump was shot. I hope he doesn’t get squishy and pick her as VP in the name of “Unity”.

Here’s the deal …
We’re locked in ‘Cultural War’ in this country. Until one side is able to provide a ‘knock out’ punch, the war will go on.
The RATs were one vote away from making DC and PR states, and having a lock on the Senate forever - including appointments of Judges, packing SCOTUS, etc.
If Tulsi or Nicki will give Trump a LANDSLIDE victory, and allow us to implement national voter ID and secure the border, then let them be the pick.
Whoever he picks has to bring a landslide election victory.

To be honest I have no real insight on who would, over time and under pressure, be the best pick for Trump’s running-mate. I’ll just pray that Trump is given guidance and wisdom from God. This will prove to be a fateful choice in the following years.
Trump’s VP should be a rock solid conservative. I say this as someone who would normally argue for a pragmtic “moderate pick” to balance the ticket, because normally the VP doesn’t mean crap.
But these are not normal times.
Trump was almost murdered two days ago. And the reaction from a SIGIFICANT minority of the country was to make jokes about how it’s a shame the shooter missed. There is a real chance that Trump does not survive his next term. For the sake of his agenda, and to act as a bit of protection against those at a higher level who might take him out to push things their way, his VP pick should be a solid conservative. Doesn’t necessarily have to be the loudest about it, but must be conservative.
Also, given Biden’s age problems etc., the election is in Trump’s favor. As long as the VP is ‘safe’ in terms of the obvious (lies, etc.), it doesn’t matter that much in temrs of the election who he picks. But it does matter in terms of his agenda and the future.

Some folks on X are saying that Trump said earlier today his pick is someone the MSM isn’t talking about much. Take that for what it’s worth. I haven’t heard him say that. Coming from multiple sources on X though.
