Washington — President Biden spoke Sunday about the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump, saying he is directing an independent review of the security and events at the Pennsylvania rally to determine what went wrong. The president said he will speak to the nation further from the Oval Office Sunday night.
One spectator was killed at the rally and two were critically wounded. Trump was injured with a graze wound to his ear. Mr. Biden said he wants to ensure Trump gets the security he needs.
"Last night, I spoke with Donald Trump," the president said in his Sunday afternoon remarks. "I'm sincerely grateful that he's doing well and recovering. We had a short but good conversation. Jill and I are keeping him and his family in our prayers. We also extend our deepest condolences to the family of the victim that was killed."
The president also spoke briefly Saturday night in Delaware after Trump, with blood visible on his face, was whisked off stage at a Pennsylvania rally when a gunman's bullet grazed his ear. The president, who has been updated regularly by top administration officials, received another briefing in the White House Situation Room on Sunday.
"We don't yet have any information about the motive of the shooter, we know who he is," the president said Sunday, without naming the suspect, who was identified by the FBI as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks. Crooks was killed by a Secret Service sniper after opening fire.

He did say Trump would have a bad week, have bullseye on him, be challenged in a way he hasn’t been challenged before.
When asked if this was an assassination attempt Biden said “we don’t know enough yet”.
We knew it was within seconds.
I feel so much better knowing this. 🥴
The Biden-led investigation will conclude:
1) It was a lone wolf attack
2) The shooter was a MAGA republican
3) The shooter was motivated by his MAGA hatred of Jews, black and homosexuals
4) Trump deserved it for his hateful rhetoric
5) This would not have happened if he beat Medicaid like I did.
6) Next time I will pick someone who won’t miss
What are the odds that those feds will accurately report the contents of the phone?

Biden team is using this as a means to heal from the damage his mental deficiency has done over the last three weeks.
His handlers have put him out twice now to say virtually nothing for a short two minutes, try to look presidential, and then back to the basement hide out. He has already announced another presser at 8pm tonight where I predict it will be a short two minute statement saying the same thing again, nothing, again to try to get some presidential looking face time.
The attempted assassination of Trump will become Bidens further justification for not dropping out of the race. It’s got to be driving the democrats and their donors mad.

The Feds are still hiding docs about the JFK assassination! I have no doubt we will get plenty of half-truths, lies and fiction.
I notice that Biden is making the most of the attempted assassination by getting his face out there as much as possible and acting all “presidential.” Acting being the operative word. He’s attempting to tamp down his own recent problems by showing he’s “in charge”.
An “Independent” cover up more like it. AKA a “Church” committee type.
Biden is trying to affect the narrative, we heard it this morning with a soft phrasing to massage it’s tone/course slightly.
His words will be mostly what we expect, but he will be gently blowing on the narrative with some subtle phrasing and direction of focus.
I don’t get why everyone’s so cynical.
Come on, somebody almost killed Joe’s Vice President!
Biden’s FIB will investigate. The same gang that raided Mar A Lago. The investigation will follow the path of Hunter’s laptop. Crickets.
