Weird, awkward language usage avoiding pronouns — "one officer" "the officer" "the officer" — tells me the officer is female.
The officer should have at least been screaming that there was shooter.
Small town cop was probably overwhelmed by the confrontation( little or no real time training). This is why there should have been upgraded security around the venue. I can recall my first encounter and realized at that moment it was my defining moment in life
My gut says the same.

Sounds like the shooter was rushed into taking the shots at Trump thinking he didn’t have much time after he was discovered. The officer may have unknowingly saved Trump’s life.
Bingo.
This all seems very suspicious to me. So, it sounds like they were aware of the guy on the roof, and some local authorities went to investigate.
You would think that information would’ve been passed on to the Secret Service so they would’ve been aware exactly what was going on, i.e., two officers from XYZ agency will be climbing a ladder to investigate. Sounds like there was definitely some sort of communication breakdown/failure
Did “the officer” have coms with the rest of “the officer’s” department and the Secret Service? “The officer” just retreated?! WTF.
