Not long before shots rang out, rally goers noticed a man climbing to the top of a roof of a nearby building and warned local law enforcement, according to two law enforcement officials.
One officer climbed to the roof and encountered Crooks, who pointed his rifle at the officer. The officer retreated down the ladder and Crooks quickly took a shot toward former President Donald Trump, and that’s when the U.S. Secret Service counter snipers shot him, said the officials who spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity to discuss an ongoing investigation.

“There is a LOT of information in the article.”
There was nothing new in the article. After reading your comment I ended up giving AP a click and learned nothing new.
AP is the worst of the worst. If you ever go to the PBS news site you will see that they use AP a lot as their source. AP is not the friend of America.
Or they didn’t find it in the father’s gun case.
As a retired LEO that isn’t the procedure we would have followed in my PD>
A woman or a Diversity hire .
AP is Protecting the incompetent fool .
AP would blast the guys name photo address across the globe if it was a white male .
100%...AP an obvious enemy. Pack of stinking liars
Or as Bongino says, “Dont’get dead”.
Sounds like the time between sighting the suspect, and the suspect firing was very short. The Secret Service sniper killed the shooter within seconds of the time he opened up. The cop may have actually been in danger from the a Secret Service miss. If the cop draws the assassin's fire, the entire attack would have been thrown off.
“He made the shooter rush his shot.
Leading to the non-fatal hit.”
The non-fatal hit was because Trump moved his head at the last moment, not because the shooter was distracted. His shot would have been perfect.
LOL, you and I are on the same page, see my post just above.
For me, it was about half a dozen years ago. Nice, France. They carry Manurhin MR 73’s, with lanyard rings and cords, or did. Which is a pretty interesting revolver. Also saw a fireteam of national gendarmes in full battle rattle, rifles (Maybe a bullpup? Don’t remember for sure), body armor, helmets. Near the Place Massena.
But here in the USA? LOL, NO!
This smells like more BS. So many holes in the narrative at this point that it seems like “they” don’t even know how to come up with a plausible story.

Why was there a ladder against the building? Built in service ladders usually end 7-8 feet above the ground and are blocked and locked.
BS....I’ve climbed service ladders and the first step is a bigger one...but I could stretch and make it...and I’m 5’4”
Unbelievable. Protect and serve! What a joke.
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. — Ephesians 6:12
Are you serious? If indeed a law enforcement officer retreated, and did not confront, that’s pathetic and derelict. Thank goodness he retreated and only one person was killed IS NOT OK.
Wow it’s really hard for me to believe this wasn’t deliberate.
Brilliant point.
Are you implying that climbing a ladder one handed is difficult? Seriously?
