Video Shows U.S Secret Service Spotting and Watching Shooter Prior to Shots – Doing Nothing, Then Flinching with Inbound Bullets

July 13, 2024 | Sundance | 688 Comments I’m not going to narrate what you can witness with your own eyes and ears. The camera lens is pointed toward two U.S Secret Service protective detail snipers on the roof behind President Trump. One is the spotter. Turn on sound. You can clearly see both USSS spot the shooter, do nothing, wait for the incoming fire, then respond.

Again, video might not last. WATCH:

“I believe the two black-clad snipers on the roof are local police not Secret Service as denoted by the “POLICE” on their vests. I believe that would have them operating under different Rules of Engagement than the Secret Service (local and PA jurisdiction).”

I disagree. The standard SS counter-sniper uniform includes a ballistic vest with “Secret Service” printed on the front and “POLICE” printed on the back. In fact, all LEO counter-snipers wear police uniforms that clearly identify themselves as LEO.

The two counter-snipers on the roof should have taken out the perp as soon as they saw that he was not dressed like uniformed LEO and his weapon was not a standard LEO sniper rifle.

" The good news is Trump is going to sail into the WH in November....."

That is if he survives another deep state set-up. Don't even believe Biden's crocodile tears.

Swarming the stage and protecting the candiandidate is vastly different than killing someone. Not a good comparison.

I did not say trespasser. What if a stranger, 200 yards away, is trying out a new scope on their deer rifle and points it at your house. I don’t believe that even in Florida you would have the right to kill them.

I suspect someone in the command center gave a don’t shoot first order

Should have labeled my comment as sarcasm, I guess. Just pointing out the unjustifiable inaction of the SS. And, you are absolutely wrong regarding their ROI. They are absolutely mandated to shoot deadly threats on sight. If there was any doubt about the nature of the threat, at minimum Trump should have been immediately swarmed.

Absolutely true. He’s too far away for them to say “drop your weapon.” They can’t fire until they directly confront him or he fires. I assure you that if you saw someone aiming a gun at you from 100 yards away while you were sitting on your porch, you do not have any legal right to kill them first.

You are wrong. Please stop.

I still believe there was confusion and time spent assessing the situation before acting. Far more plausible than a SS to let Trump be killed.

So your defense re stating that SS agents who see a sniper in position pointing at the President have to wait until he shoot before they neutralize him is to bring up the scenario of seeing someone 200 yards away, dressed as a hunter, pointing a gun at your house? PS no one should test out a scope by pointing at a house or a person...
I think you’d better stop digging.

I stated earlier I may be wrong about ROE. The rules are classified. Maybe the SS sniper has to get approval from superior before killing someone that has not fired yet.

If so the person in authority is incompetent.

Nope. The scenario about someone trying out a scope was explaining that Florida would not allow you to kill that person.

I stated earlier that I may be wrong about SS RoE. They are classified.

I did. I said I may be wrong about RoE.
And it’s time for the TinFoil brigade to stop turning 3 seconds of active shooter scene confusion into a widespread Secret Service plot to kill Trump. Bunch of middle-aged internet potatoes fantasizing how decisively they would have reacted in that incredibly short time frame. It’s the uninformed imaginations of doofuses who have never been in that situation.

There are a lot of assumptions being made.

Until we see images from the snipers point of view towards the shooter location I think we should withhold judgements. If the roof on the AGR building was peaked it is likely the snipers couldn’t see the shooter until he broached the peak.

This event has a ton of video. But what folks don’t realize is that the video cameras were at a distance and they compress the depth of field. Sure, it’s great documentation of the event—but they need to be reviewed in context. Angles and distances are deceiving on video.

In addition, we have NO idea what communications were happening. People think communications are instantaneous and clear; they are not. Getting messages and information from point A to B takes time.

As with all of these types of situations the first reports are often incomplete or simply wrong. Eye witnesses are notoriously bad.

Finally, having been involved in a firearm assault a lot of people who were not there express opinions about what “I would have done.” In reality, they were not there. They did not see what was happening. And they have a whole bunch of time to considers the situation. Real life doesn’t work that way. Real life is messy and confusing and it happens fast.

Maybe, maybe just a reaction failure.

But what is far more telling is that there were not SS agents on every single rooftop overlooking the stage. THAT is an obvious and massive failure. It is unconscionable and very suspthat those sharpshooters were covering the rooftop from a greater distance than the rooftop in question was from Trump.

That armed agents were not on those rooftops, and securing the buildings in question is highly suspicious - all by itself. Unforgivable failure that should cause the removal of the entire chain of command at the SS immediately. All the way up to DHS. And it should finish Biden as a candidate forever.

How in the world did the shooter manage to get a long ladder in place in order to climb a building in such close proximity to President Trump? That is not something that is done on the sly and without someone noticing. Also, on a white roof, he would have stood out like a sore thumb (and obviously did since bystanders noticed him).

“They were watching the would be assassin. They had a bead on him and waited for him to shoot. They just about had to watch him get in position.”

************

Assuming this is true then why wasn’t Trump immediately alerted about the imminent danger??? Why did they let him stay out there and not swiftly act to protect him in the face of an obvious threat?

Also, while the actions of the SS protective detail was commendable in terms of encircling him, why did it take so long for them to remove Trump from the podium area and into the safety of a SS vehicle? He was out there far too long and unnecessarily exposed to a chaotic situation.

Trump ducked down on his own. No SS flung themselves on him immediately to get him cover. Gun shots, touched the side of his face, looked tense and crouched. Then SS ran to him.

It looked like Trump was protecting the short fat chick.

Trump, listen to me! You can’t trust the SS, get your own guys.

I also find this shooting suspicious beyond the lone 20 year old.
Just think the counter sniper would have to take a few seconds to decide for damn certain he’s killing a threat and not a fellow LEO.
