Gov. Abbott Visits East Asia to Boost Trade Relations

In efforts to bolster foreign trade relations between Texas and East Asian countries, Governor Greg Abbott delivered remarks at the U.S. Embassy in the Republic of Korea on Wednesday.

His trip to South Korea marks the second day of his three-nation economic development mission to Taiwan, South Korea, and Japan.

Abbott met with Cho Tae-Yul, Minister of Foreign Affairs for the Republic of Korea, to discuss strengthening economic and trade ties between Texas and South Korea.

Abbott and Tae-Yul spoke on innovation in emerging industries such as artificial intelligence and semiconductor manufacturing.

South Korea is a global leader in semiconductor manufacturing, while Texas has been the top U.S. state for semiconductor exports for the past 13 years.

“Texas and South Korea have plenty in common, with knowledge-based economies that will continue to grow and thrive well into the next generation,” said Abbott.

“We are both economic powerhouses set to dominate the technologically advanced future. And with our strong trade and exports, Texas and South Korea are critical economic partners in the growing economies of the 21st century. I looked forward to working closely with the leaders of South Korea to further link our economies and ensure our two peoples lead the way into the economy of the future.”

Imagine this, Texas can be the bridge to chip manufacturing, both from USA and East Asian Countries.

Throw in great petroleum production, Texas could use the oil exports without being dependent solely on the US Dollar for transactions. (currently inflating badly) And factor in our ranching and agriculture to be foreign exchange material.

I'd say that Governor Abbott is very perceptive about this 2nd trip concerning foreign trade with Texas.

He has also been very bold about how Texas cooperates with and supports Israel. (When DC stabs in the back often)

And reducing our dependence upon China, who is currently behind a lot of the Texas Border Illegal Alien Problem.

May God Bless Texas. May it always be what foreign nations consider to be Texas. We have always been different here.

Is this the best time for him to skip town? Hundreds of thousands still without power in the Texas heat.

It’s possible that this important trip was planned well in advance of the present critical weather events.

Anyway, there’s a good Lt. Governor present.

I beg to differ on the illegal invastion.

These are all self inflicted wounds. It could be stopped if Washington wanted it to.

The enemy is within.

You sound like the ComDem Idiots on X yesterday. Hammering the same old song. How horrible Abbott was for not being there for the hurricane. Which could have been much worse than it turned out. Yes there is damage, no power not be out like in the Great Freeze.

Do you really believe if Abbott was in Texas, that is would have recovered any better? I don’t.

The State of Texas is in the hands of Lt. Governor Patrick. Everything will be just fine.

I’m sure the Demonrats are going to try to politicize Abbott being out of state just as they politicized Ted Cruz over his flight to Mexico during the big freeze of ‘21.

<>Do you really believe if Abbott was in Texas, that is would have recovered any better? I don’t.<>

In the aftermath of Cat 5 Hurricane Michael in 2018, under FL Governor Rick Scott, an army of utility repair, road and restoration teams descended upon the affected areas of north FL soon after the flood waters receded.

Considering the destruction, I could hardly believe how quickly our area was back up and running.

Governors matter.

The Lt. Governor was in charge.

Gregg Abbott is physically not able to pick up debris. He is a good governor. I was one of his earliest supporters, before he had a thought on running for Governor. He was a great Attorney General.

I don't like for people to disrespect him. Nobody has done more to tell the vermin in DC NO. Both as AG and as Governor.

End Trans.

Yes, the useful idiots were out in force yesterday with exactly what you said. They think they are smart, but in reality they don’t have a clue.

And we have some right here on FR. I will not be a part of it.
