WASHINGTON — A member of Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor's security detail shot an armed man during an attempted carjacking in the early morning hours on July 5, according to court documents.
It happened as two deputy U.S. Marshals were on duty in a government car in Washington about 1 a.m. They were confronted by a man who got out of a silver minivan and pointed a gun at one of them through the driver's side window, according to a criminal complaint. The car was unmarked but the pair were dressed in U.S. Marshals shirts.

I would enjoy the sentencing just to hear the Judge say, So what do you have to say for yourself? Speak up man, you’re mumbling.
Hahaha. / smirk.
Be justice if the shot ruined his tongue. Very Dark Ages sort of punishment,
Just another chapter in the Wise Latina’s “compelling life story.”

What??? I thought having a handgun in DC was illegal?
“Yeah, disability claim likely within three months. At least in the line of duty.”
Practically every cop or firefighter has long-term hearing damage. The only thing a disability claim gets them is an agreement to cover the cost of hearing aids.
>I’m sure all the democrats are okay with Sotomayor’s security personnel having guns. As for me and you, not so much.<
Oops, a criminal carrying a gun? Was it legal? /s
