If Biden stays, they will promote the idea that he will surround himself with experts to make the important decisions. It would likely encompass the Cabinet who would gain presidential powers. Biden would be for all purposes a figurehead.
I suspect the reason the left is going after Biden right now is to force their way into Cabinet positions in exchange for their support. They want to manipulate how the public sees the presidency, changing it to where so-called experts are actually running the government.
