French Jews fear they may have “no future” in the country after the far-left’s victories in the parliamentary elections over the weekend.
As Breitbart News reported, French President Emmanuel Macron’s alliance with the New Popular Front delivered a victory over the Marine Le Penn’s populist right, which has sparked concerns about rising antisemitism.
Moshe Sebbag, a rabbi for the Synagogue de la Victoire, told the Times of Israel that “it seems France has no future for Jews” while advising young Jews in the country to leave for Israel.
“But people my age, who are 50, 60, we’ve made our life here and we fear for the future of our children,” he said.
While Moshe Sebbag certainly did not welcome the New Popular Front victories, he ultimately lamented about the mainstreaming of antisemitism in general.
French-Jewish philosopher Bernard-Henri Lévy said this weekend’s victories mark a rise in the “new antisemitism.”
“The left is once again kidnapped by the infamous Melenchon. Divisive language. Hate of the republic on the lips. Around him right now are some incarnations of the new antisemitism. A chilling moment. A stain: Continue to fight against these people,” French-Jewish philosopher Bernard-Henri Lévy wrote on X.
Jean-Luc Melenchon, leader of the France Unbowed far-left party, or LFI, previously called French Jews “an arrogant minority that lectures to the rest” and is even “on record in an earlier speech as celebrating anti-Israel protesters days after some of them stormed a synagogue, condemning in that speech only French Jews who demonstrated to show solidarity with Israel,” according to the outlet.

Who’d they vote for?
The left are rioting because they got bupkis. They got the most seats, but are well short of a majority. Macron’s center right and the right have almost 60% of the seats.
I read last week that was why Macaroni called a snap election, to deprive them of a majority.
A lot probably voted for Macron’s party. If they are afraid of the communists, voting for the party that’s allied with them obviously makes no sense.
They have good reason to fear. The Islamization of France will increase greatly.

The name “New Popular Front” is scary. The original Popular Front was Stalinist.
Although, I cannot speak in terms of Jewishness why a Jew would vote for their destructor, I can state why a liberal would do so.
Liberals are religiously minded people, but they don’t want the obligations that come with their religious mindset. They want a society they like, but they don’t want the morality that comes with making nice societies. JINO’s are like this.
I’ve come to realize that many Jews resent the West, both for its oppression of Judaism but also its ability to create heaven on earth when they are the chosen people and supposed lights to the world. So, they work to destroy the West through leftist and they don’t consider how it will destroy them as well. When I say that, I am focusing on Jewish leftists and not Torah observant Jews.
France almost went Communist after WWII.
Saw someplace claim they can’t hold another election for minimum of a year. Easy to imagine this coalition falling apart sooner. May it fall hard enough to beat since into more hard French heads!
The west has not oppressed Judaism until recently. At least not the most prosperous countries, like France, Netherlands, England, Italy. Germany didn’t either, with the exception of the Nazi era.
This lot is Stalinist too, just with better press.
I know and I understand, but one of the arguments the left uses is how bad Europe was as a colonizing power hundreds of years ago. To the left, the West’s sins never ends. It does not matter how long ago it was or what we did to make up for wrongs we did.
Our extinction is the only way to balance the books.
For decades the Jewish community has supported open borders.
Now they don’t like it.
One would hope that the Jews of France voted for LaPen, not out of fear of right wing hysteria and so-called Fascism but out of fear that the radical Left will allow the Muslims of France to overrun them.
It is coming. The Jews are not safe in France under any Left wing government. Under a right wing government they would have fared better.
They were playing pool. They thought they could secure Israel by making the rest of the world insecure. Drop IQ’s worldwide and Israel stays on top.
They are learning that security for oneself only comes from your willingness to make others secure. “What you do unto thee, you do for me.”

In the last week France and the UK voted for the far left and have ushered in unlimited immigration, those two countries are headed for some very dark days in the next few years
