As the GOP convention nears, and voters focus on the election, the race remains closer than it should be given Mr. Biden’s infirmities. Swing voters still worry about Mr. Trump and the possibility of four more years of turmoil. The former President can help his campaign, and the country, by projecting stability and calm.
We know many readers will think this is impossible, and maybe it is. Yet he showed admirable restraint after the debate last week, letting Democrats implode, until his profane golf-cart outburst.
The opportunity is there to present a reassuring alternative if Mr. Trump wants to take it. And he has a timely opening to send that message with his vice presidential choice in the next week. Now leading in the polls, he doesn’t need an attack-dog VP or someone to rally his core voters. He needs a choice who shows mature judgment and has the ability to appeal to anxious and undecided voters.

The last 3 democrat presidents have no military background at all, Clinton, Obama or Biden. In fact, Clinton was a draft dodger. When it was his turn to step up, he ran and hid. Like all democrats, he’s a cowardly parasite, living off other people’s money, and other people’s sacrifices.
Both Bush presidents were veterans, and Bush 41 was a bona fide war hero.
Trump did not serve, but at least he attended a military academy.
The whole country relies on those who serve in the military, yet democrats seem to hate the veterans.
Since Biden took office, my VA bennies have been reduced and slashed significantly, despite Biden’s claims that he’s taking good care of the veterans. He’s a liar.
I would like to see somebody who at least appreciates the sacrifices made by those who choose to serve, maybe Senator Tom Cotton.

What we need is someone who is prepared to become the standard-bearer for a constitutional republic after Trump. If we just go back to the GOPe then any gains Trump makes will rapidly be lost, the Marxist bureaucratic blob will grow and usurp power again, and we’ll be right back to where we are now. We need someone who understands the need to fight and has the conviction to uphold the Constitution. I really don’t care about much else.

And I get sick of hearing the RINO hand-wringers talking about the “chaos” during Trump’s first term. Yes, there was chaos, but it was all fabricated by the left and the complicit RINOs, ala “Russia!, Russia!, Russia!” They were like arsonists running around constantly setting fires and then trying to blame the fire department for the ensuing “chaos.”

Someone took a big shot with him this week as he got bet down to 10/1 third choice from 100/1 before drifting back up to 25/1.
I was excited at the prospect but folks convinced me that he is too controversial.
I can’t picture Tim Scott as president, can you? I prefer Byron Donalds or Vivek. Vivek is equally energetic as Trump and would be best at carrying his platform forward. Also, relatively YOUNG and not a LIFE-LONG SWAMP CREATURE.
