If everything you eat comes from Trader Joe’s, yeah, expect to pay a lot for food and drink.

Look at the receipt. Dad spent it ALL on processed, packaged, corporate-branded foods

I bet his kids are fat, too.

My thoughts as well. Is he a “hey Joe, we need Newsome” idiot? Or an “I’m still with Joe” idiot? Or is he stuck in CA as one of the few remaining conservatives?

The total means nothing.

It’s what he bought that matters.

There are things like casseroles, soups and stews that can be made.

70% veggies
10% meat
20% pasta/rice

It is my understanding that Asian markets typically have good prices on veggies.

Beans, rice, potatoes, cornbread, a big bag of sugar. milk, a bushel of green beans, etc etc. Pork chops are usually cheap. 50 pound bag of rolled oats is about 35 bucks. That’s about 400 servings. 50 pounds of flour is about 55 bucks at Costco. Spaghetti noodles and egg noodles are about a buck a pound.

He needs to wise up and stop living so high on the hog.

I wonder who dad voted for?

Six kids and earns enough for Trader Joe's? Could be a conservative with good job anchoring him to California.

We lived in Westlake Village. It’s the hoity-toity area of Thousand Oaks. The Trader Joe there is very expensive. Ralph’s is on the corner of T.O. Blvd. and WLV Blvd. He could shop there and not have to whine so loud.

Until Biden took over, I had never been to Dollar Tree, when prices started escalating after he became a president, I thought I would try shopping at Dollar Tree and I found a few items for $1 that I could use. Then as Dollar Tree became a regular stop to me for a few items Bidenomics made the $1 items $1.25. As every place else the prices were skyrocketing Dollar Tree still provided some relief. Suddenly prices were no longer set at $1.25 as several items became $2. A recent visit to Dollar Tree made me think they now need to change their name to β€œThree to Five Dollar Tree” Biden’s policies have really screwed up our economy!

Judging by the receipt he buys processed factory food, which is both crap and overpriced.

Rice, beans, vegetables, fruit, lean meats ... do your own damn cooking and stop being lazy. Your food bill will drop dramatically.

I didn’t read the article.

Did the dad spend his own cash or was this an EBT purchase?

This dad is an idiot. The “breaded chicken tenderloin” is literally 4 TIMES the price of an equal amount of chicken breasts and breadcrumbs from their local grocer. If you married a wife too lazy or stupid to know how to bread and cook chicken cutlets in a pan (”shake and bake”? hello?) then you deserve to go broke.

Note, most of the food on there is the pre-prepared heat-n-eat type.

I don’t see what my wife buys:

Chicken thighs
Ground Beef
Beef Heart
Pork Loin
Hot dogs
Sale meat of the week

Asparagus
Green Beans
Broccoli
Carrots

Bread
Whole Grain Bread (folic acid sensitivity in family)

Store brand tortilla chips
Hot dog buns

Condiments

You get the idea.
She shops at Fry’s (Kroger), but our bill for a family of four is still quite high.

Given you’re trying to feed a family of six I don’t believe $444 is all that out f line with what it takes

I’m glad that his income both supports SIX CHILDREN and his choice to shop at TJ.

That’s a bidenomics success story right there.
