California Gov. Gavin Newsom, while campaigning for President Biden in the battleground state of Pennsylvania over the weekend, was asked about his own prospects should the Democratic incumbent exit the race.
A longtime top Biden campaign surrogate, Newsom has rallied behind the president's re-election bid, making stops in Michigan and Pennsylvania in recent days. Yet his own name has been floated as a potential replacement for Biden should the 81-year-old president step aside and allow for an open convention, when Democratic delegates convene in Chicago next month to formally decide their nominee.

Realizing our media is what it is, it still bothers me that this guy gets to walk around like he is a God.
Just wondering if he will be appointing a czar who arrests people on kayaks during pandemics.
Democratic voters love politicians who destroy states and cities.
Newsom must be stumping for a juicy apportionment of federal funds to be on the polar opposite side of the current democratic party civil war.

Newsom may sense that replacing Biden during this election cycle is like accepting the role of red shirt guy on Star Trek.
He is hoping to be VP under Karmala.
Remember, if Newsom ever runs, this will be the same guy who supported a President/Commander in Chief who was suffering from dementia.
He’s done before he ever started.
In the end Biden will say “Et tu Newsom”
Never happen now.
He’s on the wrong bank of the proverbial flood.
But I would enjoy seeing him crash & burn if he attempted it.

HE went from a $50-60 Billion SURPLUS to a $50 BILLION DEFICIT IN ONE YEAR-—A swing of $110 BILLION.
HE has created taxes on taxes that do not help anyone.
He has spent MILLIONS on “homeless” & there is NO VISIBLE change.
Give him access to larger sums????

I am also bothered by the fact that the GOP has no foresight. To me, they should have been stomping this guy for a year now.
I am not saying they should have used his name. Why give the punk recognition.
But they should have been using California as a bogeyman every chance that they had. “We don’t want this nation to go the way of California.”
Given the horror of California, Newsom should be a liability right now, not a featured surrogate.
Good point, I forgot about that.
Then again, that rule only applies to Republicans. Much like the natural born citizen requirements.
