President Biden indicated in an interview with ABC News Friday that he would be at peace if he lost to former President Trump "as long as I gave it my all."
Why it matters: Biden is under growing pressure to step aside as the Democratic nominee in the wake of his disastrous debate performance last week, especially given the stakes of a potential Trump second term.
Many Democrats believe Biden has been an excellent president — but that his refusal to give up power at his advantaged age could risk throwing the country into turmoil after November's election.
His interview with ABC's George Stephanopoulos, broadcast Friday evening, is unlikely to quell those concerns. What they're saying: "If you stay in and Trump is elected and everything you're warning about comes to pass, how will you feel in January?" Stephanopoulos asked Biden.
"I'll feel, as long as I gave it my all, and I did as good a job as I know I can do, that's what this is about," the president responded.
At other points in the interview, Biden repeatedly denied that his approval rating could be as low as 36%, that elected Democrats want him to step aside, and that the presidential race is anything but a "toss-up."

Hey Joe,Your best ain’t good enough for this country.
It’s clear he gave it all - cause there’s nothing left.
That depends....
What I’m saying is that every follower, that follows need a leader that ALSO needs a follower to fallow behind her.
Get it now?
“Many Democrats believe Biden has been an excellent president...”
Unbelieveable stupidity. SPJNK.
*What I’m saying is that every follower, that follows need a leader that ALSO needs a follower to fallow behind her.
Get it now?*
No.
As we know, there are known knowns; there are things we know we know. We also know there are known unknowns; that is to say we know there are some things we do not know. But there are also unknown unknowns—the ones we don’t know we don’t know.
Think of it like yellow school busses, the short ones......and space.
Well, that'll make two of us.
How could anybody in their right mind believe that Biden “has been an excellent president”??
You have a nomination to finish.
In the words of Hillary's great Selma address.
You've come to far from, where you started from.
You don't feel no ways tired!
Nobody told you the road would be easy.
Finally!
Thank you
I was about to give up on this idiot site..
They should be able to do what can be possible, unburdened by what has been???
Oh... Never mind.
You got this, Joe!
Yep. They refused to acknowledge he had mental health issues for years. They own this mess now.
It is.
Yes, yes, but what really matters is the passage of time and the time that flows from time to time as we pass from the past time through the present time and into the future time.
You see, today we are in today. But yesterday, today was tomorrow because today was in the future yesterday. Just as tomorrow is in the future today but tomorrow it will be today, and today will be yesterday. This is the passage of time.
Get it now? (But remember, now is today, but tomorrow it will be yesterday.)
Possible only occurs if the impossible is proven by FACT to be impossible meaning that Possible is infact more likely to be either Possible OR possible.
Take a taxi cab for instance.
Does it exist or is that possible?
If the Democrats had just gone along with Republicans on Impeaching Biden, the Republicans could have shared blame for Biden being removed.
Dems, do you want a quick impeachment, now?
He had nothing and threw it all away.
