Not enough time to name a new v.p. for five months; requires majority of both houses to select. Dems then did not try to block the Ford selection.
A majority vote of both houses of Congress is needed to name a new VP.

say Biden resigns, Harris steps in, how long can they go without a VP? I fully believe the left does NOT win in Nov so all this hand wringing is moot. But, just wondering how long they can go without confirmation? ie, can she/they put off selecting a VP replacement for a period of time?
That has happened twice before--to replace Spiro Agnew with Gerald Ford, and then, after Ford became President, to fill the vacancy in the Vice Presidency. Ford picked Nelson Rockefeller (whose son really was eaten by cannibals).
The way to get him to resign is to convince him that Jill will then become President.
Can he give pardons for treason? If he doesn’t, can it still expressly be pursued?
