Tom Fitton of Judicial Watch reports that Biden will resign on Monday (8 July)

I guess that would make Kamala Harris President.

Fitton is like “prophets” who predict that Christ is returning on a certain date. Always wrong, but that doesn’t stop them.

Could the pardons be challenged at a later date because he’s not cognitively capable?

Judicial Watch has been around for a long time—solid and steady group—not given to wild claims.

I would not rush to dismiss them too quickly.

Monday makes sense... Put it out there over the weekend, with no comment from the White House and then by suppertime on Sunday start the drip, drip, drip until Monday morning when the reveal will occur. A message will be read by his dumb*ss press secretary on Monday morning. Kamala will hold a news conference at some specific time and be introduced as the President of the United States.

Do not expect Biden to appear on TV and announce his resignation... He is stepping aside because he’s mentally impaired... And letting a mentally impaired man on live television for an ‘announcement’ isn’t in the cards.

Tonight’s interview with lapdog snuffelopogus will likely be the last time you hear Biden speak in public. The next time you see him, will be when Jill accompanies him to the helicopter as they both wave goodbye and ascend the stairs to get on it.

She would propose a new VP which requires Senate confirmation.

We went through this after Nixon resigned and Ford took over...

I hope not.
Stay in Joe. We need you to stay in.

This is a post from 17 hours ago.

Mods, considering all the news events that have taken place since then, indicating Biden is staying in, can we at least get this article pulled from the top of Breaking News?

Yes, I think so. I think Harris would have the authority to pick, but I don’t know what ratification, if any, would be needed.

I guess Senate confirmation is required.

This is from the 25th Amendment:

Whenever there is a vacancy in the office of the Vice President, the President shall nominate a Vice President who shall take office upon confirmation by a majority vote of both Houses of Congress.

Which, given the current state of Congress, is not a given.

Yes and no.

Harris would nominate a new VP who would need to be confirmed by both the House and the Senate.

> I don’t think you can issue a pardon when no indictment has been issued. <

Interestingly enough, a pardon can even be issued for crimes that just *might* have happened. An arrest first is not necessary.

As an example, Ford pardoned Nixon for all crimes that Nixon might have committed while he (Nixon) was president.
