Proceeds from oil and gas sales for Russia's federal budget rose by around 41% year on year in the first half of the year 5.698 trillion rubles ($65.12 billion), finance ministry data showed on Wednesday, due to rising oil prices and the weaker ruble.

Oil and gas revenues have been the most important single source of cash for the Kremlin, accounting for around a third to a half of total federal budget proceedings for the last decade.

“A Ukrainian drone attack on July 1 seriously damaged the Oskol Electrometallurgical Plant in Belgorod Oblast near Stariy Oskol city. It is (was) the only full-cycle metallurgical enterprise in Russia, vital for the Russian military-industrial complex.

The strikes resulted in a complete blackout at the plant, shutting down all electric arc furnaces with frozen metal inside. The furnaces need to be completely cleaned and the arc elements to be replaced to restart. It could take several months, the source told the Kyiv Independent.

“Some of the plant’s employees believe that the furnaces will have to be replaced with new ones. Considering that the plant was built by German specialists using German technology, it will likely be difficult to restart the plant’s operations without their participation,” the source added.

The facility produces high-quality steel, including alloyed specialty steels (SBQ), for the automotive and mechanical engineering industries. It uses the blast-free direct reduction technology MIDREX and electric arc melting.

The plant’s products are used by GAZ, UAZ, and KamAZ, among other Russian military-industrial enterprises.

The Oskol Electrometallurgical Plant, as well as its owner, Metalloinvest company, were included in the sanctions lists of the U.S. and U.K. in April 2023 in light of Russia’s aggression in Ukraine.”

“Once the Neocons ‘sanctioned’ themselves out of Russia, Russians took over”

In very large sectors of the Russian economy; like the automotive industry, non-military manufacturing and finance; it has been Chinese that took over.

I thought we’re talking about the Russian economy, not the US economy.

Ansel, I did a search on 2 people I thought were zotted...LucyInTheSky and MercyFlush.

LucyInTheSky’s posting history was gone. The page read “Your query returned no results”.

Mercy Flush’s posting history remains. The last comment they wrote was on 9/9/2022.

Could it be that the posts of the zotted are wiped out and the posts of the suspended remain?

I wish I knew.

Thanks for your help.

Simply stated, they are communist sympathizers.

Worse still they do it for the fun of it, to stir the pot makes their day.

You did a search for the name which took you to that person’s posts, if you click on the persons name in a thread it takes you to their home page.

Go to this link of Mercy Flush’s posts and click on his name in one of the posts.

You’re right. I did misspell the name. It’s LucyInTheSky1 which renders this result:

She also received an official Viking Kitty zot notice:

Never heard that said except by you usuals with your hyperbole, like Ukraine in Moscow…
It isn’t that I think Putin can invade the rest of europe(he can’t take Ukraine), but does he want to.

Hitler thought he could take all of Europe and Soviet Union. Putin was told he could taken Ukraine, that the west would fold after the door was kicked in…

Sure the answer is to give what Putin wants and all will be fine.

Has worked in the past right?

If I were putin, and he like history so much, I would be far more worried about his “friends” the Chinese and their historical claims to much of eastern Russia

Empire building is a step at a time and Ukraine’s geography, coast, resources, geography and population were/are intended to be the first major step for Russia.

“troll.”

Does the truth hurt?

Sorry if it stings, but the Russian economy and its Government’s finances are not doing well. They are paying major costs for their choice to go to war, and the resulting sanctions, which are currently the most on any country in the world.

Chinese firms now dominate the Russian auto market, and Chinese firms are operating most of the auto manufacturing facilities abandoned by Western firms - not Russians.

Business to Business financial transactions in Russia are mostly conducted in Chinese currency now, up from around 3% in 2021. The ruble is now hardly convertible directly into hard currencies (Dollars, Euros, Yen, Pounds) and is effectively pegged to Chinese renminbi. The Moscow Exchange is now banned from converting the ruble with hard currencies (in just recent weeks).

China buys Russian oil, minerals, grain, land and commercial assets at highly discounted prices as compared to International commodity prices; and Russia has no choice but to keep selling.

Russia’s Middle Class was initially shielded from economic fallout from the war and sanctions, but that is no longer the case. Taxes are going up, and prices are going up faster. Government spending on education and health care have been cut significantly.

The high wartime rate of money printing by the Russian Government (20-25% per year), on top of the previous surge during COVID, has embedded high structural inflation. We have constrained the US money supply after COVID, shrinking US M2 money supply 3% in the 2 1/2 years since January 2022, and our inflation from the COVID money supply surge (25% in 2020, 12% in 2021) is just finally starting to cool. Food remains significantly more expensive than before COVID.

Russia increased their money supply more than a whopping 50% during that time (2022-2023) while the USA was shrinking our own. Instead of restraining their COVID inflation, Russia has poured a lot of monetary gasoline on the fire. Continued high inflation is unavoidable there for at least the next two years, and hyperinflation is a real risk. That is coming right out of the living standards of their Middle Class.

I looked at your posting history.

This is a Viking Kitty Ping!
This is NOT a ZoT ping yet!

Another so called noob is still accusing FReepers that don't support Ukraine Russia, Russia, Russia supporters, and non-MAGA, still pushing for our money to flow to Ukraine. Also throwing bs-information that obviously came from a stinky orifice.

Freest Republican:
"
Your posts tout Russia, China and Iran.

How can anyone support those nations and possibly be MAGA?

This is not a trick question."

"
You’re sick of war and military but can’t stop overstating Russia?"

"
You have started endless threads spitting in President Trump’s face-praising Russia while he unequivocally supports Ukraine-

~

President Trump said Ukraine’s survival is important to us-that’s good enough for myself-why not yourself?

crying because this behavior is indefensible is not a good look.
"

"
You support America by denigrating it at almost every opportunity while at the same time promoting Russian, Chinese and Iranian superiority that doesn’t exist."

"
I’m not exactly sure what it is in President Trump considering Ukraine’s survival to us as important that you folks don’t seem to grasp.

But there is nothing MAGA in the slightest to supporting Russia while President Trump unequivocally supports Ukraine.

He must not know about the corruption? You folks are better informed?

Russia is a second world gas station with nukes who’s currency has gotten annihilated, is borrowing at 18% with an economy smaller than California, Texas and New York while supporting 145million people."

"
Make it make sense.

WWIII any day now!

Putin has died 10 times and Ukraine has run out of menn and munitions 15 times.

Iran is going to unleash hell on earth any moment.

China must have forgotten to annex Taiwan under Brain Dead’s watch?

There’s a better chanced of any leftist imbecile making sense of ballot bans, censorship and 93 bogus charges saving democracy."

"
WHOA the neo cons were overstating mighty Russia to enable war-

remember?

now the neo cons are the ones pointing out Russia is a flea on civilization’s rear end?

Says guy praising North Korean summer camps."
