Meetings. Lots of meetings. That is just one part of the plan the White House has laid out for President Joe Biden in coming days as he strives to project a vigorous, engaged persona far removed from what the public saw during his mournful presidential debate appearance.
AP reports the White House announced Tuesday the octogenarian will meet with congressional leaders as well as Democratic governors to convince them he is the man for the job.
He will then sit for a network TV interview on Friday before holding a press conference in coming days.

IMO they are hoping he will do it again, which is will end all of this nonsense quickly.
It does seem like a set up for his final stumbling, drooling performance so they can ditch him.
Anyone has delt with an old person, in the decline know, putting pressure on the situation always is counterproductive. Biden having been an asshole behind closed doors for 40+ years makes the odds of success near zero.
The knives are out, I predict July 9th will be the day everything moves. The press, the donor class, the congress critters are all not in DC. Things for some reason cannot happen during a long weekend, so they don’t happen.
Unfortunately his "meetings" are ALL scripted, he reads pre-written remarks on a teleprompter like a five year old after two shots of whiskey.
Democrats don't work on weekends, or during the week for that matter.
Signs of WH desperation, and loss of jobs looming, so
the old guy is kicked out to do his “dupe the voters act”
<><>drJill sensed her power slipping away after the disastrous debate
<><>she then went berserk before a roomful of Biden partisans
<><>she went beyond cringeworthy into the usual Biden territory of voter condecension
<><>drjill bubbled “You were great, Joe! You answered all the questions!”
<><>partisans looked on dubiously
<><>the Biden entourage moved to a pre-planned “dupe the voters” Waffle House event,
<><>there the Bidens were roundly ignored
<><>the dissolute debater had now segued into being a full-blown zombie.
<><>the Waffle House stop was calculatedly intended to reassure the working class,
<><>the blank-faced debater and his wife hastily beat it out of the humiliating venue.
Then why is the interview happening during the long weekend?
I don’t see this going very well . . .
To allow for dissemination and for ‘reaction time.’
Today he has a medal of honor ceremony at 4:45 and dem governors at 6:30. Not exactly a vigorous schedule.
Let’s be honest, the only upcoming meetings for Biden are with people telling him it’s over and contemplating his exit.
“Then why is the interview happening during the long weekend”
If he stumbles on what will probably be a friendly interview, appears bad to the governors, stumbles on one of the other events he will be gone.
I agree with Proto that a decision will be made on July 8 or the next day
A given, but these things usually run off the rails after more than a few minutes.
Time to order more popcorn…
I predict the democrats will resort to AI showing Biden dancing like Fred Astair “Puttin’ on the Ritz.” Look how smooth he is! LOL What a bunch of losers.
BINGO
They are definitely trying to push him over the edge.
CAN “Little Georgie” at ABC be charged with ELECTION INTERFERENCE for what will certainly be nothing but SOFTBALL questions???
I am surprised NY hasn’t started charging every Democrat involved with the crime of lying to affect an election like they did to Trump!
Oh wait, that’s right, I almost forgot those laws only apply to Trump!

What the Dems are not considering is every day Biden slips decays a little bit more. By the time the 2nd debate comes around, he will be almost a vegetable.
