Former first lady Michelle Obama would beat former President Donald Trump in a hypothetical 2024 matchup, according to a new poll.
The wife of former President Barack Obama is among the names being touted as a possible replacement for President Joe Biden, who is facing pressure to step down as the Democratic Party's nominee for president following a disastrous debate performance last week.
Biden's poor performance sparked panic among Democrats and led many to question whether the 81-year-old is the strongest candidate to take on Trump, the presumptive Republican nominee, in November.
Biden has vowed to remain in the race, with Seth Schuster, a Biden campaign spokesperson, telling Newsweek after the debate that Biden was "not dropping out." Obama has repeatedly said she does not intend to run for president.
But a Reuters/Ispos poll found she was the only top Democrat put before respondents who would trounce Trump in a hypothetical matchup.
The poll found 50 percent of registered voters would vote for Obama if the election were held today, while Trump would get 39 percent of the vote.
Obama's office has been contacted for comment via her website and the Trump campaign has been contacted via email.
The poll surveyed 1,070 U.S. adults nationwide, including 892 registered voters, between July 1 and 2, and has a margin of error of 3.2 percentage points.

I don’t doubt it because it does take much to tip an election one way or the other but the ‘dumbness’ of voters never ceases to amaze me. Totally unlikeable radical leftist. Hopefully scrutiny would change some opinions.
If Trump campaigns on how he’ll make America better, rather than how mistreated he and his base have been, he’ll win no matter who they nominate. The issues are his to win on. Hope he is disciplined enough to raise them.

Firstly Big Mike will never run. He HATES HATES HATES politics.

In fact, he's always been a deeply entitled whiner. Whining (about White people) is practically all he ever does.
Whatever good poll numbers he has comes from the corporate media fellating him nonstop for over a decade.
I do think that she would have the best numbers against Trump over all the other possible Democrat candidates. The pro-Kamala wing would also be satisfied that a black woman would be at the top of the ticket. I still say I would expect an Obama/Newsome ticket and Kamala would be offered full support for the California governorship. Kamala should be able to win there easily while her chances nationally at the top of the ticket would be poor. If Biden and Harris agree to not run, the funds they have raised would go to the DNC to use. I agree with the other comments that Trump would poll much better once hypothetical becomes reality. However, I don’t think that he would do well enough to overcome the margin of theft. The democrats know that they only have to keep it close. A few thousand 3 a.m. ballot drops here and there to win it they can do. Coming up with millions of ballots is a bit tougher. Right now, Biden doesn’t look like he can come close enough for the “most extensive and inclusive voter fraud organization in history” to do it’s job. That’s why he will be replaced by Michelle even if she is reluctant. Otherwise, under a second Trump turn the Obama’s fingerprints on Biden’s term will come out in the open.

Conservative women who loved ANY Obama are not what I would call legitimately “Conservative”. Just sayin....
But as far as Mooshelle being ‘put over the top by women voters’... I can see that happening easily. She checks all the leftist/commie boxes. 1) female, 2) woman of “color”, 3) solid Democrat, 4) race-mongering activist, 4) easily controlled (they think).
And yeah, Mooshelle running would be a major blow to Trump winning and to the survival chances of America. Which is exactly ‘why’ they are now and have been pressuring her/him/whatever to run for president. God help us if they succeed in their goal re: that.
I predicted her run years ago because she is the only person who can (appear to) beat Trump. She ticks every box. Remember, though she is as much a powerluster as the rest of her crew, she's backed by Holder, ValJar and several other strategists. Freepers disdain her, but I've not heard a negative word about her from liberals in my acquaintance.

might be easy to poll well when you have name recognition but when you have to debate the issues and people see where you stand that is a different story
