Kamala Harris set to inherit $240M in Democrat funds if Biden drops out — transfer tricky for any other candidate: sources

Kamala Harris is poised to take Joe Biden’s place if he drops out of the presidential race — in part because she’s the only person who can take control of the Democrats $240 million war chest, sources told The Post.

Many prominent Democrats are waiting in the wings to take the ailing 81-year-old’s place, but the quarter billion Biden-Harris have raised is non-transferrable, campaign finance sources told The Post. “Biden has two real choices: Kamala inherits; or they transfer it all to the DNC,” Signum Global partners Rob Casey told The Post. “That money would all be accessed by Kamala… anyone else would be on their own for fundraising.”

Even if Biden wanted to, campaign finance sources say giving the money to another candidate — like California governor Gavin Newsom or Michigan governor Gretchen Whitmer, whose names have been mentioned as possible replacements — would prove sticky.

A week presidential candidate, often has negative effects for those people down ticket.

Historically yes, but history didn't follow 2020 or 2022 like it should. The House was already leaning to flip back to the Dems, and if they had a big pot of money that the R's didnt and could focus it enough to push close races (PA, AZ, MT, WI, NV, etc...) toward the D column, they could look at having control in both chambers of the Legislative branch.

No money for rounding up illegals, no money for building a wall, no judges approved, any legislation that passes is riddled with pork and earmarks favoring Dems and the establishment, an impeachment every month, they could grind anything a reelected President Trump wanted to do down to nothing for two years, and then in the midterms point to him and the state of the country and say "see, he's a terrible leader, elect more of us to stop him!"

Sorry, but the same requirements for President are in place for anyone in the line of succession.

If KH is ‘qualified’ to be Veep, then she is qualified to be the top dog as well.
