He can ignore the sentencing, and yes, stay out of New York. The scum local judges do not get to hold up a National candidate and former President for concocted tortuous jury decisions by a bought jury. No- it does not happen like it was somewhere like Bloody Kansas and the trial conducted by Bushwhackers or Judge Roy Bean. This is 2024 and this idiot judge had better pay attention to the SCOTUS ruling or he may find himself before SCOTUS on charges, both he and the “prosecutor” from Merrick Garland. What a bunch of commie clowns. Not going to happen.

Overwhelmed? You seem like you need a safe room, buttercup.

The bottom line is that if everyone posts rumors and speculation to Breaking New, then the Breaking News sidebar becomes irrelevant.

BTW, a friend of a friend, who allegedly works in the courthouse, tells me that Judge Dumbass is going to sentence Trump to the max, but suspend the sentence pending appeal, which means that Trump cannot petition the SCOTUS for a writ of Habeas Corpus because he is not in custody. As a result, he will have to wear the “convicted felon” dunce-cap during the election cycle as the appellate process takes months if not year.

Please advise whether I should post this rumor as “breaking news.”

Yes! Same way they keep talking about January 6 & insurrection. Ummmm, Trump was never tried, let alone convicted, of anything having to do with an insurrection. So why do they keep saying he’s guilty if he hasn’t even been tried for it. They are basically implying through hearsay on public forums that he’s guilty of things, attempting to try & conviction him in the media before the public & then go judge & jury shopping & criminally try him legally just long enough to have a kangaroo court find him guilty. They need that as a veneer of credibility for what they are accusing him of.

Problem is, of course, each one of these cases is so thin & flimsy because it wasn’t established with its main goal being strong proof of law breaking & a final legal conviction. They dont ultimately have enough to prove anything substancial under strict review. Higher courts will have to contend with over-charging, venue shopping, judicial bias, inappropriate gag orders, the installment of prosecutors in local jurisdictions by DOJ, inappropriately applied statutes, hearsay, prosecutor’s bias, false evidence & a whole mess of issues that now limit them because of the Supreme Courts backing of Trumps Presidential immunity.

The main goal for them was to make accusations on television & media, have the press carry their water by keeping a story going, get a temporary fig leaf (corrupted) judicial ruling to be able to point at if someone questions the legitimacy & affect public opinion enough to torpedo his election & allow them to falsely attain power, again. The problem is that none of it is playing out the way they thought. It’s actually having the opposite effect.

There’s no proof that January 6th was intended as an insurrection; The prosecution appears cherry picked; The timing looks preplanned; The judges & prosecutors seem politically motivated; The media appears to be piling on blindly; & more than anything, politicians appear to be using an inappropriate & unconstitutional method to defeat a political opponent.

I’ve always believed , regardless of the election year, Trump like all Republicans/conservatives is already guaranteed 45% of the electorate- even if he completely flopped or stopped being inspiring. I think the one aspect that gave him pushback in achieving the small percentage of votes he needed to push him over 50+% is his straight-forwardness & absolute confidence, because those were the only qualities that made him unsympathetic to some. When they chose to go down this path, not only did they tick off & uber-motivate the 45%, they also made him appear sympathetic to far more than enough extra voters to win a majority of vote to win the election. It’s now made it possible to easily win the electoral college, all of the swing states/even some blue-leaning states & also (not that it matters Constitutionally) a majority of the popular vote.

I didn’t realize until the last week: they screwed up big time! 🤣🤣🤣

“Makes no sense that Merchan stays anything, especially his own ruling.”

Merchan is getting signaled by SCOTUS that they are on to the DNC’s political games and are not participating in the least.

Merchan may not want the very public Bi+chslap that appears to be teeing up. He is compromised and may well find himself in legal jeopardy in very short order, along with his daughter. I wonder if that is why the earlier story about the leaked guilty verdict appearing on the court’s web page, (Merchant notified Trump’s counsel), has gone eerily silent?

That is no small matter.

I wouldn’t put it past Merchan to throw Trump in the clink, but only because he has demonstrated his abject partisanship in this case.

America will not tolerate that.

FReepers won't like me saying this. But Donald Trump is an @$$hole. And a bully. He cheated on his wives. Married three times. Three baby mamas.

But now that he is the "enemy of the state", he is actually becoming a sympathetic figure to independent voters who would be put off by his personality otherwise.

Something tells me that Merchan is far more likely to do hard time than Trump and he will not do nearly as well on appeal as Trump will.

After he wins he pardons himself. Then the fun begins.

He can't pardon himself on State law. On the other hand Braggs office "convicted" Trump based on federal crimes so, why not?

El Señor Merchan got the call. He can smell that federal bench appointment. It smells like Stormy’s covfefe.

They are telling us an insane NY judge can interfere in a US Presidental election

They are telling us an insane NY judge can interfere in a US Presidential election by jailing a Presidential candidate by accusing him of interfering in a US Presidential election with made up law that creates made-up evidence of a made-up crime, and then get a made-up jury to convict on it with made-up instructions on how to do it.

The problem is that any emergency SCOTUS reversal will take a day or two at least, which wouldn’t prevent Trump from spending a night or two in jail while it all gets worked out. The only other stumbling block might be the Secret Service. They may resist any attempts to imprison Trump on the spot. I don’t think New York court officers are all that eager to have a showdown with the Secret Service.

I personally think if Trump is jailed he will not come out alive...Best to just stay out of the State of New York, win the election and then deal with them.

Wouldn’t it be a shame if the Trump administration decided to strip him of his citizenship and send him back from where he came? Damn. I would hate to see that happen.

They never do. They continue working just as hard after each defeat. Biden raised more money following the debate. Their base never quits or stands down or relaxes. Even if they get one setback after another, they will work for decades or longer to obtain their goals.
