Ukraine’s security service said on Monday that it had foiled yet another Russian plot to stir public unrest and then use the ensuing turmoil to topple the government, outlining a familiar tactic that Kyiv claims has been employed in string of coup attempts in recent years.

The Ukrainian domestic intelligence agency, the S.B.U., said that it had discovered a “group” of conspirators it accused of planning to spark a riot, seize the Parliament building and replace the nation’s military and civilian leadership. Four people have been arrested and charged, according to the authorities.

While offering little detail on how such an ambitious plan could have succeeded

Is that this fake story?

“A headline from Newspunch, a site that has spread misinformation in the past, states: “High-ranking Ukrainian officials caught splurging on luxury real estate in Switzerland.”

The headline spread to Facebook, and was flagged as part of Facebook’s efforts to combat false news and misinformation on its News Feed. (Read more about our partnership with Facebook.)

The article said its claims are based on a “fact-checked” Newspunch investigation. It links to tweets from @AZMilitary1, which has previously spread misleading information about Finland’s ties to Nazis and other topics.

Newspunch’s article and the related tweets claim to show Swiss land registry documents and allege that three people who have ties to Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy purchased multimillion dollar properties in Gstaad, a Swiss resort town. The officials named are Dmitry Razumkov, a politician, Oleksandr Danyliuk, a former National Security and Defense Council secretary, and Lyudmila Denisova, a former human-rights official. Denisova has since said that her firing was initiated by Zelenskyy.

But the documents are fake. The Land Registry Oberland in Bern, Switzerland, keeps records about properties in Gstaad. Adrian Mühlematter, the Land Registry Oberland’s managing land registry administrator, told PolitiFact that the documents about the Ukrainian officials were forgeries.”

“””””Russia didn’t attack when Trump was President and oil was cheap.”””””

As president Trump did feel the need to suddenly start sending weapons to Ukraine and he did have American troops in joint exercises in Ukraine, while strengthening our NATO positioning and warning NATO off from depending on Russian energy, and also rebuilding and modernizing our nuclear weapons and pulling out of the INF treaty with Russia.

Putin feared Trump because Trump was preparing our forces in response to Putin, not because Trump was accommodating and passive.

This “plots” only work because there is fertile ground for them to grow in.

Imagine you’re living in a country where they cancelled the elections and as of May your leader is a dictator. Even Russia had elections. Everyone knows this guy is a stooge that us under the thumb of a foreign government. The guy in power ran in a “peace” platform but we’re at war. Many kids are getting drafted, by force. People are dying, many are crippled and you see this reality/truth even though the numbers are literally a state secret. Utilities are intermittent. Freedoms are curtailed.

He might be person of the year for Time and in the US: https://media-cldnry.s-nbcnews.com/image/upload/t_fit-760w,f_avif,q_auto:eco,dpr_2/rockcms/2022-12/time-person-of-the-year-2022-volodymyr-zelensky-cover-jp-221206-f32207.jpg

But his popularity in the Ukraine has worn off.

Why do you think we’re ok with the cancelled elections?
