Inside the Democratic Party's frantic secret call after Biden's debate disaster
Daily Mail ^ | 6/30/24 | Katelyn Caralle

Democratic Party leaders desperately pleaded with rank and file committee members to not abandon President Joe Biden despite his train wreck debate performance.

During a secret call after the CNN debate in Atlanta on Thursday, DNC Chairman Jaime Harrison and Biden's campaign manager Julie Chavez Rodriguez tried to quell concerns over the President's viability as their 2024 candidate.

But those on the call claim leaders are gaslighting them and asking them to ignore obvious signs of mental decline. They believe that Biden, 81, might not be the best one for the job anymore.

With just a month-and-a-half until the Democratic Convention, many Party members, strategists and donors are wondering if they should seek a replacement.

Meanwhile, Biden is back at Camp David after spending seven days there before the debate to prepare for the showdown. Reports claim he is set to discuss with his family at the presidential retreat his path forward.

One person described Biden's mood after the debate as humiliated and devoid of confidence, according to a searing NBC News report. And the President is aware that the physical images of him that showed a blank, million-mile stare and agape mouth will live beyond his presidency.

Harrison downplayed the significance of the conference call during an MSNBC interview. He said it was just a regularly scheduled call 'to talk about the state of the race' with elected officials across the country and discuss the upcoming national convention.

Harrison and Rodriguez, two of the most influential members of the Party, ignored Biden's perceived weakness and gave what some call participants described as a rosy assessment of Biden's future.

'I was hoping for more of a substantive conversation instead of, 'Hey, let's go out there and just be cheerleaders,' without actually addressing a very serious issue that unfolded on American...

When they say ‘party leaders’, think of the defendants wearing headphones and guarded by MP’s at Nuremberg.

My opinion: Joe will go.

This brave talk by a few dem stalwarts is just to create an impression that claims Joe isn't capable of being president are debatable and refutable; moreover those claims are deep-fakes.

Dems hope people will in the future cling to the suggestion that Joe's decision to step down was a “close call” and the dem party never ever lied about Joe's decline.

“President Biden had one verbal mishap because of a cold and for the sake of the country decided to step aside because his cold would prevent him from campaigning for several weeks; he couldn't risk letting Trump run loose while he was recovering from a slight cold.”

Even after drjill told Joe he was a “good boy” and “knew all the debate answers,” insiders described Biden’s mood after the debate as humiliated and devoid of confidence, according to a searing NBC News report.

The televised images viewed by 50 million people that showed a diminished Biden,
open mouthed, blankly staring, freezing-up, talking nonsense, will live beyond his presidency.

If they replace him, I the Biden people kick and scratch and resist to help weaken the Democrat Party. In the end, the problem is the Biden Regime’s policies which are irreparably harming America. We need the Democrats to lose.

The anger among Democrats was made evident on Sunday when John Morgan, a top Democratic donor, publicly blamed the advisers who managed the president’s debate preparations, citing by name Ron Klain, Anita Dunn and Dunn’s husband, Bob Bauer.

“Biden has for too long been fooled by the value of Anita Dunn and her husband,” Mr. Morgan wrote on social media. “They need to go … TODAY. The grifting is gross. It was political malpractice.”

He elaborated in a subsequent interview. “It would be like if you took a prizefighter who was going to have a title fight and put him in a sauna for 15 hours then said, ‘Go fight,’” he said. “I believe that the debate is solely on Ron Klain, Bob Bauer and Anita Dunn.”

Members of Mr. Biden’s family were likewise said to be focused on the president’s staff, including Ms. Dunn, a White House senior adviser, and her husband, Mr. Bauer, the president’s personal attorney, who played Mr. Trump during debate rehearsals.

They were asking why Mr. Klain, the former White House chief of staff who ran the preparations, would in their view allow him to be overloaded with statistics, and they were angry that Mr. Biden, who arrived for the debate in Atlanta with a summer tan, was made up to look pale and pallid, said one of the people, who has been in touch with several members of the family.

But the person said that the president himself was not among those who were upset and that he still trusted Mr. Klain, Ms. Dunn, Mr. Bauer and the others. Other Democrats said it was unfair to blame the staff for the president’s own failings, dismissing what they called typical second-guessing and scapegoating.

A couple of Democrats pointed out that family members did not attend the preparation sessions.

In the days since the debate, Mr. Biden has privately and publicly acknowledged that he did not do well, and he has been calling trusted advisers like Mr. Klain; Ted Kaufman, his longtime aide and friend; and Jon Meacham, the historian and informal adviser; as well as key donors and party figures.

Even if they can get Biden out of the race at this late date, who would the Democrats put in his place? Newsom…his record in running California is worse than abysmal. Hillary …old news. Governors Whitmer or Pritzker …not hardly. RFK Jr ….brain worms are the least of his problems. Then there is Kamala ….telling that she couldn’t garner a single delegate in her home state of California when she ran for President in 2019. Michelle O …might garner the Marxist voters, but not many others and very unlikeable. The list of others is even worse.

Give the requirements to be on the ballot in many states particularly those where Joe Senile won the primaries it could be impossible to put in a substitute. The Democrats might well be stuck with running dementia Joe.

We’re all being gaslighted by Democrats who tell us the President is fit. How can these people be trusted if they’re that far removed from reality. The Democrats should stop thinking they’re doing us a favor by trying to run this country.

“Dems hope people will in the future cling to the suggestion that Joe’s decision to step down was a “close call” and the dem party never ever lied about Joe’s decline.”

That hope might be realized for them or it might not, but the world, and both parties, are watching like hawks for any sign of decline.

Sure. Our side will be watching for fails, but the dims will be watching to try and head off any catastrophes for their party. How long do you think biden can stand under that scrutiny?

How could anyone with a normal train of though think we should allow anyone who is not operating normally to serve as president? This is about the most important job in the nation or don’t some folks believe that?

I really think this is a pump-fake. The people actually running things have no desire to break someone new in because the situation as it stands is so incredibly perfect for them.

It wasn’t the drugs. It was the fact that he had a tele-prompter to read from. There’s a big difference between reading a teleprompter and responding to questions spontaneously. Even if he had the questions ahead of time, that’s a lot of answers to have to memorize. On top of that, there’s no way he could know ahead of time what Trump would say and how to respond to him.

It’s funny how these Biden apologists are trying to blame each other for the train wreck, as if it were only a matter of preparation. They could have given him a month or a day to prepare and it wouldn’t have made a bit of difference. They all backed a senile loser and are now looking for someone else to blame for their mistake.

The Democrats do not have a nominee.

The Republicans do not have a nominee.

They will be chosen at the convention.

There is nothing to “switch” until after the conventions.
