Democratic Party leaders desperately pleaded with rank and file committee members to not abandon President Joe Biden despite his train wreck debate performance.
During a secret call after the CNN debate in Atlanta on Thursday, DNC Chairman Jaime Harrison and Biden's campaign manager Julie Chavez Rodriguez tried to quell concerns over the President's viability as their 2024 candidate.
But those on the call claim leaders are gaslighting them and asking them to ignore obvious signs of mental decline. They believe that Biden, 81, might not be the best one for the job anymore.
With just a month-and-a-half until the Democratic Convention, many Party members, strategists and donors are wondering if they should seek a replacement.
Meanwhile, Biden is back at Camp David after spending seven days there before the debate to prepare for the showdown. Reports claim he is set to discuss with his family at the presidential retreat his path forward.
One person described Biden's mood after the debate as humiliated and devoid of confidence, according to a searing NBC News report. And the President is aware that the physical images of him that showed a blank, million-mile stare and agape mouth will live beyond his presidency.
Harrison downplayed the significance of the conference call during an MSNBC interview. He said it was just a regularly scheduled call 'to talk about the state of the race' with elected officials across the country and discuss the upcoming national convention.
Harrison and Rodriguez, two of the most influential members of the Party, ignored Biden's perceived weakness and gave what some call participants described as a rosy assessment of Biden's future.

If you have even followed politics from a distance the past 45 years, you know Joe Biden is a dimwitted class a jerk. Nobody has been gaslighted or fooled. They are and should remain absolutely humiliated and apologetic over the charade they forced onto our nation as “not Trump”. Joe was one of the very few willing to take the assignment of taking office in a stolen election because he is that greedy and stupid.
Democrat party leaders aught not engage in domestic or foreign policy if they are as stupid as they are demanding that they are.
VegPres and his teleprompter guy came smoking the next day in North Carolina. When his handlers were doping him up the week before the debate they miscalculated. Pugnacious Joe was 18 hours late. All “Dr. Jill” needs to do is to keep him hoped up on drugs and her lies and he’ll stay in. Unless, of course, the DNC offers a huge chunk of that $250 million campaign war chest as a lovely parting gift.

I just inadvertently got into a conversation with a typical old Liberal Democrat. He said that Biden was just really sick during the debate and should be in a hospital and that every word out of President Trump’s mouth was a lie.
I made the mistake of trying to set him straight, but it was of course completely futile. I told him that Biden speaks and acts the way that he did during the debate every day, but that the media covers for him. When I asked for an example of President Trump’s lies all he could come up with is that President Trump still believes that the 2020 election was stollen. He said that it has been investigated and proven that the 2020 election was the fairest election in our nation’s history. After that he walked away muttering something bad under his breath

They ALL knew but hoped they could continue the con past this November. Every Democratic Party member should feel embarrassed, ashamed and stupid. The rank and file democrats have been led around like the idiots they are. They’re probably asking themselves “Why didn’t the witches on The View report this?”
In conversations with Democrats I meet in passing I tell them that I'm a Democrat and that I'm angry and confused by the debates. That I feel like I "have been lied to." I figure they'll be much more receptive to my message if it comes from someone who is not a "dirty Nazi Republican" or whatever asinine label they're calling us now.
When people react like that after hearing the truth just laugh as they walk away. Ridicule is a powerful weapon.
Biden, Biden, Biden. That’s the headline. Everybody, and I mean everybody, knew his state of mind. He’s just an old senile man. It’s not Biden. It’s the people around him. Call them handlers or whatever name you give them, but it’s the Democrat Party and their operatives. It has been their policies, yes, THEIR policies, that Joe Biden has taken credit for doing. They are the people around him. From the economy to the border, from politicizing the Justice System to telling us what type of cars and appliances we must have, and on and on, just to remind us that Big Brother knows best. It’s the Democrat Party that wants to eliminate our freedoms. They need to look at themselves and THEIR policies and quit gaslighting us with Joe Biden.
