Vice President Kamala Harris has never been closer to the presidency after Joe Biden’s disastrous debate performance sent Democratic elites into a tailspin about their chances in the 2024 election.
As the vice president of the United States, Harris is the natural successor of the presidency if Biden steps down. But for years, Democrats have criticized Harris’ performance and feel she should not take over for Biden before the election.
One well-connected Democrat told DailyMail.com after the debate that the choice was between an ‘obviously broken Biden’ or Harris, describing the vice president as ‘extremely disliked’ and a ‘terrible’ politician.
‘I think I’d have a better shot with Biden,’ he said.
One Washington, DC political operative described to DailyMail.com the mood of Democrats on Friday morning.
‘Everybody’s going to try to resurrect Joe Biden today, but after that debate performance, Jesus Christ couldn’t be resurrected,’ he said.
He described the 'Kamala conundrum' as a result of Biden and Democrats playing the 'dangerous game' of identity politics to boost their numbers with the black community.
'She could be great for the base right?' he said. 'But you still need independent voters who just don't have confidence in her.'
Other Democrats conceded that Biden did not have a good night, but the party is not ready to replace him with Harris.

Well, the one thing the Democrat/Communist Party has with Harris is that should she begin to suffer from dementia it will be a while before people begin to notice a change in her cognitive ability.
There isn’t time to pull this off. Had the Democrats moved 6 months ago yes, but its too late now.

Exactly! 4 states have very restrictive provisions on replacing a nominee unless it’s death. Those states like Wisconsin would mean a certain loss for any other candidate. I think the Democrats are boxed in. Not to mention, Joe can simply refuse to release his delegates, which is a distinct possibility. The Democrats are starting to wake up to the fact the President may lose here this year, like the Republicans in 1996 with Dole. They have to hold the Senate now.
Its about to be July. Biden has won the votes of millions of Democrats in all 50 states and is thus owed the nomination votes - the delegates are bound and MUST vote for him on the first ballot.
The rules committee is stacked with Biden loyalists so they’re not going to change the rules to favor anybody else.

Remove Biden or Biden dies or quits? Heels Up is the president.
Campaign donations.....hundreds of millions made to the Biden-Harris ticket. They can only be spent by someone on the ticket....ie Biden or Heels Up if Biden is gone. They cannot parachute somebody else in and then spend those funds by federal campaign finance laws.
State ballot laws....Nevada, Georgia and Wisconsin are already too late to change the ballot. Get rid of both Biden and Heels UP and they automatically kiss those 3 states goodbye in the general election.
I’m just not buying the (waives hand) “Oh Democrats don’t follow rules so they can magically make all this go away in an instant” claims. I understand the feeling but the electoral machinery has gone too far down the track to be stopped without massive cost at this point.

My point was Agnew had to be removed before Nixon was.
We ended up with one of the most innocuous presidents we ever had, Gerald Ford, who was then the victim of not one, but TWO assassination attempts!
2/3 of both Houses of Congress, which means, even if every Republican voted to remove Biden, he stays, unless 70ish Democrat Representatives, and 18 Democrat Senators, also voted to remove him.
That is a very large number, especially given that, if the vote is at all close, it will be political suicide for many of those Democrats to join with all(?) Republicans to remove a Democrat POTUS.
If they were to try the 25th Amendment, I expect that they would have to plead some intervening event that suddenly, and sadly, compels loyal Democrats to vote Joe out. If we get a spate of stories that it has just been discovered that Joe has had a series of strokes recently, then the 25th Amendment is in play.
Well, Kamala Harris did manage to garner 2% support during her last presidential run.
I think the Dems will let Trump win this one so they can clear the slate of Biden and Harris, concentrate on 2028 with a new slate of lefties.
So pleased that President Trump gave a pre-emptive warning to America's enemies not to try anything in the next few months.
Even if the 25th were invoked, Congress could slow walk it right up to the election.

There are plenty of ways to stop that.
We have ceased to be a nation under rule of law. The Democrats will do absolutely anything to retain power. If Kamala Harris is in the way, they will remove her.
Democrats intend to appoint the next President and vice-President. They want people who will do as they are told and make it look good. Neither Biden nor Harris can meet that requirement.

Yes, there is. Remove both of them as nominees at the DNC convention. The DNC can run anyone they like.
It does not matter who is on any ballot. The DNC can print as many mailin ballots as needed.
