Vice President Kamala Harris has never been closer to the presidency after Joe Biden’s disastrous debate performance sent Democratic elites into a tailspin about their chances in the 2024 election.
As the vice president of the United States, Harris is the natural successor of the presidency if Biden steps down. But for years, Democrats have criticized Harris’ performance and feel she should not take over for Biden before the election.
One well-connected Democrat told DailyMail.com after the debate that the choice was between an ‘obviously broken Biden’ or Harris, describing the vice president as ‘extremely disliked’ and a ‘terrible’ politician.
‘I think I’d have a better shot with Biden,’ he said.
One Washington, DC political operative described to DailyMail.com the mood of Democrats on Friday morning.
‘Everybody’s going to try to resurrect Joe Biden today, but after that debate performance, Jesus Christ couldn’t be resurrected,’ he said.
He described the 'Kamala conundrum' as a result of Biden and Democrats playing the 'dangerous game' of identity politics to boost their numbers with the black community.
'She could be great for the base right?' he said. 'But you still need independent voters who just don't have confidence in her.'
Other Democrats conceded that Biden did not have a good night, but the party is not ready to replace him with Harris.

She would do worse in an election. Her poll numbers are consistently worse than Biden’s are. But she is the VP. If he steps down or croaks or is taken out via the 25th amendment, she becomes president. There is no way to stop that.
It’s my understanding that he cannot be removed unless he’s found mentally incompetent or some other serious matter. It’s not likely he’ll be indicted for anything soon, and according to many hard liner dems he’s sharp as a tack, and it’s probably too late for anyone else, only 5 months left. Now, if he voluntarily steps down, then the defecation hits the rotary oscillator. No telling what kind of damage Kamsalad could cause in 5 months.

My fear is sheeple have become so dependent on handouts, brainwashed and politically polarized that people (Dems and moderates many aka sheeple) will vote for the D regardless of who is running. That they would vote for Biden even if he was a vegetable because they want their party in power.

If the purpose of the VP is to protect the president by making people think twice about the consequences of taking him out, both Kamala and Joe were outstanding picks.

They can try to remove him via the 25th Amendment, but if he refuses to accept that he’s unable to continue serving (and you can bet that Jill already has the letter written that Joe is okay), then it goes to Congress where a 2/3 majority is needed in both houses to remove him. In the meantime, Harris is acting president until this is resolved.

IMHO,the Kamala media narrative does not fly. She is almost as bad a candidate as Biden. This will be an open convention after Biden withdraws in a few days after the first debate polls roll in underscoring the debate train wreck and donor money dries up. There will be no one individual the black electorate can point to to blame for wiping every last vestige of Kamala from the ticket, assuming she does not want to go quietly. (She will, by the way, if she wants a future in California politics or an administration job if they win) Whatever presidential candidate they pick, they will pick a generic black guy as a VP running mate and that will allay some of the whining about Kamala and black party elites like Clyburn praising the new ticket will allay the rest Blacks will forget it and return home to the party if they left at all.
Anyone who frames Biden’s problem as a “lost debate” is deliberately not seeing the writing on the wall.
She is a train wreck, but she has proven herself to be a political jack, and imagine she could do the basement thing and keep her mouth shut if it means the presidency
They pulled it off in 2020. I don’t see much or any progress in stopping the steal this time around. So get him to resign, release his delegates, pick someone like pa gov or Mike to be VP and proceed with the steal

There’s always going to be those people and they’re not conservatives and they will never come over to the other side. But that doesn’t mean that we’re overwhelmed.
Younger generations don’t leave their house if they don’t have to, unlike older generations which couldn’t wait to get out of the house and have some freedom.
There’s a bunch of “children” out there that aren’t going to vote if they don’t like the choices. It’s not that they’re going to go vote for a better choice or a write in... they’re just not going to go. I’m guessing, but there’s possibly a solid 20% they aren’t going to put on a pair of pants get out of there jammies and Sliders and take public transportation because I’ve been too lazy to go out and get their own driver’s license to go out and vote.(Lionel Nation)
That’s also why it’s very important to squash the write in and mail voting that was put in place during COVID... and if your RINO’s haven’t been attentive to that one little detail they need to lose their jobs too.

I think the only state that had a deadline before the dem convention was Ohio - and they “fixed” it in the Ohio legislature for this year, if I recall correctly.
