President Joe Biden's campaign on Saturday night, in a fundraising appeal to supporters, said the president dropping out would only "lead to weeks of chaos" and leave the eventual replacement weakened ahead of a November faceoff with former President Donald Trump.
"The bedwetting brigade is calling for Joe Biden to 'drop out.' That is the best possible way for Donald Trump to win and us to lose," Biden deputy campaign manager Rob Flaherty argued in the email to supporters.
"First of all: Joe Biden is going to be the Democratic nominee, period. End of story. Voters voted. He won overwhelmingly," Flaherty added. "And if he were to drop out, it would lead to weeks of chaos, internal foodfighting, and a bunch of candidates who limp into a brutal floor fight at the convention, all while Donald Trump has time to speak to American voters uncontested."
He continued: "All of that would be in service of a nominee who would go into a general election in the weakest possible position with zero dollars in their bank account. You want a highway to losing? It's that."
Other than the argument that chaos would ensure with a Biden withdrawal, the note included asking supporters to tell friends that despite the "rough" start to the debate, "voters saw what a threat Donald Trump is" and that "the long-term impact of debates is overstated."
"And lastly, but most importantly, you've got to keep the faith," Flaherty said toward the end of his email, adding that the campaign was going to "keep our heads down and do the work."

I’ve read in another FR thread that if the candidate drops out after the convention, then senior party leadership picks the replacement, rather than a messy delegate fight.
Campaign cash would only go to Harris as she will officially be on the ticket, they can’t do it after the convention, way too messy.
As opposed to decades of chaos that keeping him in would cause...
Rather OMINOUS to me that the FEDERAL RESERVE is losing $$$$$$$-—first time in history of USA-—at an alarming rate & NO ONE IS DISCUSSING IT.

The campaign cash is a non-issue.
It is at most 5% of the total expenditures required for a major party Presidential run.
That is correct.
The main problem with a post convention switcheroo is ballot issues in many states.
Legislative action would probably fix it in most states but there could be some loose ends at the end of the day...
This was so predictable. I posted this two days ago. The idiots shot their collective wads because they are parrots and can’t govern their emotions. Chaos has ensued. They will now regroup, rebrand, and reboot the Drooling Spoon while also growing their attack on Trump as a liar and threat to (Oh, what’s that word that the tyrants scream every 5 minutes..? Oh, yeah..) “DEMOCRACY!”. The memo has gone out. Joe will be the golden boy again by Friday.
The Biden camp is trying to sell the idea that the debate was an unusual occurrence. But we all know it's really the norm, and will happen again.

See how all the FR Never Trump Swamp Filth are jumping up and down for a Biden replacement? They want the GOPe of Mitch to remain in power to run up more than $36T debt and no doubt some sort of Swamp money for themselves.
They are TERRIFIED of what Trump is going to do this time around now that he knows the ropes and has taken control of the RNC. There will be no more celebration of GOP political careerists.
But putting all that aside, this campaign spokesman is correct in every aspect. The DNC trying to annoint a replacement will face women and blacks insisting on Harris, and she would be a weaker opponent for Trump than Biden.
Look back at the State of the Union vids. Biden is not senile. He looked just fine in that speech. He is only a few points behind Trump and even ahead in a poll or two. The debate will not move that needle, and time will pass.
It took four writers to come to that conclusion.
