I agree 100% with Jeremy Carl’s take on this.

The Biden apparatchiks believed they could sell a mediocre Biden, and they believed that they could get get Biden gassed-up to be mediocre. Why? Because they’ve done that more or less successfully for more than 4 years now. They did it before, they believed they could do it again. They also believed the could use Trump as a perfect foil to make old Biden look sympathetic. Why? Because they’ve spent so many years demonizing him that they believe only the “crazy” MAGAs really like him and everyone else hates him. In other words, they’ve gotten to the point where they believe their own lies.

Trump out-flanked them, and definitely out-witted them. He let Biden self-immolate and got out of the way while he was doing it. And at the same time he spoke, looked and acted “presidential “. Not only did Biden get plainly exposed, all the Left’s lies about Trump got crushed as well. They still haven’t come up with a single lie from Trump…”he lied constantly”…yet not one single example.

They will not - can not - replace Biden with Newsom or Whitmer or Mooch or anyone else. If Biden gets replaced they have only one choice: Kamala the Vacuum. Any other action will blow their own party apart. And then the down-ballot will be a bloodbath. They know they’re done as far as the presidential race is concerned. They are going to try to save their Senators, Congressmen, Governors, state AGs, etc. so that they can launch another effective obstruction of Trump for the next four years. That’s where the real battle is now.

I think the shallow bench the Democrats have, most are eying 2028 and a ‘clean’ shot. Stepping in now gives you Biden’s baggage. Sure, those classic polls of generic candidate does better than x/y/z already running, but you have to put up a person.

When the time comes as it does for everyone everyone needs to discuss you and what we mean by you and the time to discuss you is now.

The time for that has passed. If they’d 25th’d Biden a year ago and put him in as Kamala’s VP they could now just buy her off. Maybe $10 million and some nice houses and a prestigous do-nothing job would alter her political ambitions.

Now they’re stuck. If they try any superdelegate shenanigans or an open convention it will split the D party in two and Kamala will be driving the wedge. RFK Jr. will be laughing from the sidelines, while picking up far more votes than he would have otherwise. And Trump will win in a landslide.

With the problems of leaving an election where he won state electors is a few swing states, he is not leaving voluntarily. So how to do it? Forget 25th. Too messy and long. He gets nominated and names a new VP. Everyone knows they are voting for the VP for pres. if he wins, he resigns and the new VP becomes pres. so who is it? Mike? What other black or Hispanic female? Martinez?

You make it sound as though the Dems are about to hang themselves. So be it.

They were not citizens. She is ineligible. I wish Trump would call her out on her eligibility and really stir up the hornets nest. He has standing and SCOTUS would be forced to finally address the issue straight up.

Could be. But possession is 9/10 of the kaw, and she possesses the office. I am not saying that is right or that I like it, but it is the reality. If she is ineligible to be president, isn’t she ineligible to be VP too? The main point of the vice presidency is to have a successor to the president, if need be.

I think they should run Putin for president. He would clean house big time in a lot of areas.

“The factions will never permit Kamala Harris to be nominated for President.”

Drop Harris and watch millions of women sit out the election. Sounds like a plan.

The Democrats can drop Harris and select another more personable Black woman. Problem solved.

But, I like the way you think. If women did not vote, we would see almost no Democrats elected to any office.

Alas, that is not the world in which we live. Women do vote, they outvote men, and they prefer socialism by a slim margin. Of course, men are supposed to pay for all that.

Single women prefer socialism by a decisive margin (85%+). Married women are evenly divided within margin-of-error (48%+). Maybe they can be persuaded to listen to their husbands? Most probably not.

The Democrats may be panicking but they have no choice at this moment. So they will stick with Joe.
