The Democrats had plenty of time to edge Biden out. Despite all the talk, no one seriously tried to do it.
Now they’re stuck.
The DNC rigged the primaries for Biden. He’s the nominee. There are possible convention challenges, but they’re a longshot because the power behind Joe Biden isn’t Jill Biden (many seem to think that a D of Ed community college talent is the Machiavelli here), but a network of political careerists who are using him and who in traditional fashion control the DNC. They’d have to be dealt in or crushed and the whole show would further wreck the party’s standing. It’s an open question if the Dems suffer worse with Biden on the ballot or a divisive convention fight that splits the party. Any talk of a 25th Amendment would be the same problem x 10.
Can the Dems get Biden out?
It’s possible. But it would require a rapid concerted effort to inform Biden that he can’t run again and has to announce that he will drop out for health reasons (and maybe to be there for Hunter and his family.)
That means Obama, Hillary and every influential party figure staging an intervention, it means informing key DNC people that unless they switch sides, they will be blacklisted, and making it clear that there is no longer an option in which Biden is the candidate.
Can this happen? Yes. But it would require getting everyone on board. And that would be a challenge (but much less than it would have been last week).
And yet at the end of the day, Biden can (and very well might) tell them to all go to hell. Obama was able to persuade Biden not to run in 2016. He may be less persuadable now. That leaves few good options.

I honestly don’t think Joe will last until Nov. He seems to be going down fast. Our nation is imperiled in so many ways. You have to wonder what our enemies are thinking and planning.
One of the things that fascinates me about the 25th amendment is that nothing prevents a second or third or fourth attempt to invoke it.
Congress could say “no” but there is nothing stopping Kamala etal from trying again...and again...and again...

It would actually be easier to remove Biden by impeachment than by using the 25th Amendment if he refuses to go. For impeachment, you just need a majority of the House and 2/3 of the Senate. To use the 25th, if he does not agree it would take 2/3 of the House and 2/3 of the Senate to agree to remove him.
Well, I think after the first failed attempt, Biden would fire every Cabinet member who signed on to the attempt and make temporary appointments of people loyal to him.
What potential candidate wants to waste their load going up against Trump at this point? They haven’t even guaranteed they will have a candidate on the ballot in Ohio. Why would you waste your time getting dirtied up in the sh1t show the dems have made for themselves? Kamala is about th3 only sacrificial lamb who has enough hubris to try.

I several times thought she would be the new hope for the Dems but now have cooled off on that idea.
Substitute host on the radio reminded us today that not only is Michelle not interested in politics and making policy decisions but she several times complained of being unfairly singled out for criticism and scrutiny for being the black first lady and hated that.
The real presidency would have daily insults and no one these days would specially refrain from criticizing a black woman in office. It now happens.

The first 2024 presidential debate between President Biden and former President Trump was held on Thursday night. It marked the first time a sitting president debated a former one.
The 90-minute discussion hosted by CNN was more of an incoherent debacle than any substantive debate. Biden was halting and disjointed. He was hard to hear, muffled his lines and often appeared to lose his train of thought. Meanwhile, Trump... “Joe Biden really failed to rise to this moment,” says Chris Lehmann, D.C. bureau chief for The Nation. “I expected nothing great, but it was so much worse.”
We also speak with Norman Solomon, executive director of the Institute for Public Accuracy and the co-founder of RootsAction.org, which sponsors the “Step Aside Joe!” campaign. He says Biden’s performance in the debate showed “he is clearly impaired” and unable to defeat Trump, which is “a gift to the extreme right wing.”

The Demonicrats (including the enemedia) are whining that Flatlinejoe needs to drop out of the 2024 presidential campaign, but no Demonicrat has suggested the 25th Amendment be invoked.
