The Democrats had plenty of time to edge Biden out. Despite all the talk, no one seriously tried to do it.
Now they’re stuck.
The DNC rigged the primaries for Biden. He’s the nominee. There are possible convention challenges, but they’re a longshot because the power behind Joe Biden isn’t Jill Biden (many seem to think that a D of Ed community college talent is the Machiavelli here), but a network of political careerists who are using him and who in traditional fashion control the DNC. They’d have to be dealt in or crushed and the whole show would further wreck the party’s standing. It’s an open question if the Dems suffer worse with Biden on the ballot or a divisive convention fight that splits the party. Any talk of a 25th Amendment would be the same problem x 10.
Can the Dems get Biden out?
It’s possible. But it would require a rapid concerted effort to inform Biden that he can’t run again and has to announce that he will drop out for health reasons (and maybe to be there for Hunter and his family.)
That means Obama, Hillary and every influential party figure staging an intervention, it means informing key DNC people that unless they switch sides, they will be blacklisted, and making it clear that there is no longer an option in which Biden is the candidate.
Can this happen? Yes. But it would require getting everyone on board. And that would be a challenge (but much less than it would have been last week).
And yet at the end of the day, Biden can (and very well might) tell them to all go to hell. Obama was able to persuade Biden not to run in 2016. He may be less persuadable now. That leaves few good options.

This isn’t a matter of ego. The presidency is objectively a huge prize. Entire armies have been butchered to secure similar prizes. If someone told you the lottery ticket in your possession had only a 10% chance of winning the jackpot, but if you gave it to someone else, that chance would increase, you have to be altruistic in an otherworldly way to hand it over.
Anyone who's ambitious (most likely Gavin Newsom, Gretchen Whitmer, etc) will prefer that Trump wins in November.
Then their road to the White House is clear in 2028.
TRump forgot to mention that biden was found too senile to be charged with a crime.
They won’t let Biden go off prompter anymore before the election. All scripted events. I can’t believe they will let him do another debate in September.

All eyes are on Kamala for the 25th amendment execution. She doesn’t have the political balls to use it.
I personally hope that FJB remains the candidate in November, but the behind-the-scenes government might not want that.
I think we are all being played. Think it through. They want Biden out so they set up the debate. This debate is quite early for a presidential debate and it was designed so Biden would fail. It was meant to get the public to agree he should not run.
Someone needs to tell Chip Roy that.
The DemonCrats will make Joe a deal he can’t refuse.
The real problem for Democrats is political: Removing Biden as nominee requires them to deny and reject the election results of their voters in all 50 states after they spent four years accusing everyone else of being “election deniers.” They also will have a very hard time removing Biden as nominee but leaving him in as president. If he’s not mentally fit to be on the campaign trail or debate stage, how on Earth can he be fit enough to remain as president? The downsides of that strategy are immense, with little upside.
And that brings us to the real problem for Democrats: Kamala Harris. They know she’s political kryptonite because she’s both incredibly stupid and extremely unlikeable. Democrat voters can’t even stand her. So if they manage to get rid of Biden both as nominee and as president, they end up stuck with her, which might even be worse than doing nothing. Do they really want to be in the position of preventing the first female president from running as an incumbent? And can they sideline her while promoting another white dude like Gavin Newsom when their entire party is built around identity politics?....
I don’t think it’s a needle they’ll be able to thread without resorting to violence and republic-destroying tactics.
At the risk of asking a dumb question; what is the obvious? I am sorry but I am not as politically savvy as many of the folks on FR. Thank you.
If Biden were to pass away, either naturally or with a little discreet assistance from the deep state, the whole question of whether he should continue to run immediately becomes irrelevant.

I just thought of an interesting scenario. What if the dems DO manage to push Biden out and Kamala gets in and gets Hillary as her VP. I wonder how long it would take for Hillary to push Kamala out?
Easy force Biden and Harris out, just squeeze Hunter Biden with a long prison sentence or drop out..simple.
