Will Democrats replace Joe Biden as their presidential nominee?
It’s not that simple, logistically or politically, as long he’s still alive. States have pretty strict rules on last-second ballot changes, but Democrats have always found ways to get courts to rewrite laws for them at the last second. Just look at what they did for Frank Lautenberg and Robert Torricelli in New Jersey. It would be a heavy lift but not an impossible one.
The real problem for Democrats is political: Removing Biden as nominee requires them to deny and reject the election results of their voters in all 50 states after they spent four years accusing everyone else of being “election deniers.” They also will have a very hard time removing Biden as nominee but leaving him in as president. If he’s not mentally fit to be on the campaign trail or debate stage, how on Earth can he be fit enough to remain as president? The downsides of that strategy are immense, with little upside.
And that brings us to the real problem for Democrats: Kamala Harris. They know she’s political kryptonite because she’s both incredibly stupid and extremely unlikeable. Democrat voters can’t even stand her. So if they manage to get rid of Biden both as nominee and as president, they end up stuck with her, which might even be worse than doing nothing. Do they really want to be in the position of preventing the first female president from running as an incumbent? And can they sideline her while promoting another white dude like Gavin Newsom when their entire party is built around identity politics?
So the predicament for Democrats right now is they have to somehow find out how to get rid of Biden as the nominee, keep him as president,...

KAMALA would not be the automatic candidate, convention would be open at that point.
Democrats do not own Joe Biden. Once sworn in, he belongs to the whole nation, not just the MadDogocrats. For good or bad,it’s like being married. He is ours. And my voice in it is just as good as any of theirs.

He is harmless to them; he does what they tell him to do and he doesn’t know enough of what’s going on when things get screwed up and he has to take the blame for them.
THEY run things, not him. They WANT an empty shell, Not someone who actually believes they are PRESIDENT and in command and wants to make decisions and policy… oh no! - can’t have that!..

In my lifetime, there has never been a debate before the convention. There was a reason this changed this year. They will choose someone else at the convention. The courts will allow ballots to be changed.
As long as we have Governors like Mike DeWine the Dimocrats can do what ever they want whenever it’s convenient.

#3 works if Biden releases his delegates. It won’t work if he or his handlers actually pick a successor. That way it can be nade to look like Harris has a chance. Thing to remember is delegates aren’t just Dem pols. They are Biden loyalists whom the campaign approved of before they were on the ballot.
Then Kamala is POTUS, the one people voted for VP in the primaries.
Now replace her with a white man (Newsom) or woman (Whitmer).
That goes against their whole narrative.

Is he? Would they really be happy with Heels Up Harris as president? How could they then deny her the nomination? They certainly couldn’t do it in favor of a White man like Gavin Newsome.
Remember, they have to appeal to Democrat voters. They’re all about identity politics.
It’s easy, but no one is talking about it.
Have Joe resign. Soon. Before the convention. Kamala becomes President with the understanding she won’t run—she will be too focused on “the job.” They get their first woman, first black woman President.
She announces right away that she won’t be running and that will throw it open at the convention.
Then whomever can get their act together quickly can run at the convention.
If they do this soon, they can try to avoid a complete disaster in both houses and the White House.
The won’t do this soon because there are too many egos involved. But they need to get this done literally next week. Remember, they need to have a candidate by August 6th to make it on the Ohio ballot.
So, if Joe is on the ballot and he “wins” the state, then the electors would likely be freed to vote for whomever they want. I see that as less of a hurdle than trying to run a brain dead guy for President.

One rumor was Kamala was “furious” when she heard last night that the top dogs were setting her aside as they looked for Joe’s replacement.
She could enrage black voters if it happens.
If Biden resigned, she would be the sitting President.
If he declined the coming nomination and she got passed over for the new “star” at the convention then she might get revenge by telling the secrets she knows. Plenty of them.
