Supreme Court Denies Steve Bannon’s Request To Stay Out Of Jail

The Supreme Court denied Friday former Trump advisor Steve Bannon’s request to stay out of jail pending his appeal.

Bannon will now be required to report to prison by July 1, as a federal judge ordered him to do earlier this month. He will serve a four-month sentence for his contempt of Congress conviction, which stems from his decision to ignore a subpoena from the Jan. 6 committee.

Bannon is expected to serve his sentence at a prison in Danbury, Connecticut, that has housed violent offenders, rather than a minimum-security prison camp.

This is going to get a lot worse. They can't keep jailing the opposition. Something's gotta give.

Bannon can do the jail time, but in the end those who put him there may suffer more than he does. He will view it just as if he’d been taken as a POW, which in fact is just what he is - by an enemy domestic rather than foreign.

But he took an oath to defend the USA against both, and he will.

This SCOTUS under Roberts apparently doesn’t believe in Executive Priviledge, nor the 1st Amendment and probably not lawyer-client privilege. It appears not to decide cases based on the Constitution but on whiuch political side’s turn it is to win. That is the influence of Roberts who, remembeer, said there are no republican or democrat judges. If he really believes that, then he is as dememted as Joe Biden — or is just another liar.

If President Trump is reelected, I hope that he will NOT pick another Ivy League lawyer for the Supreme Court. And, no more women for the court. The last two supposedly conservative women, Sandra Day O’Connor and Amy Coney Baret, turned out to be LIBERALS. And John Roberts is also a mistake to say nothing of Kavanaugh.
