The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announced Thursday it is updating their recommendations for the 2024-2025 COVID-19 and flu vaccines this fall and winter season.
For the COVID-19 vaccination, the CDC said it now recommends everyone ages six months and older receive an updated 2024-2025 vaccine to protect against the potentially dangerous outcomes of the virus. Updated vaccines will be available from Pfizer, Moderna, and Novavax later this year.
The CDC said it recommends everyone ages six months and older, with rare exceptions, receive an updated 2024-2025 flu vaccine. September and October remain the best times to get vaccinated, but the CDC recommends providers begin their flu vaccine planning efforts now.
The CDC said pregnant people can receive a flu vaccination in July or August to protect their babies from the flu after birth, when they are too young to get vaccinated. Children who need two doses of the flu vaccine should get their first dose as soon as it becomes available.

With the CDC’s actions during and since the Wuhan Virus outbreak, I have little to no respect for the affirmative action hires and intelligence of the CDC. I had little faith in the Flu vaccine knowing that I had a 3% chance any year of them predicting the strain that was entering the US. I also knew that the “original antigenic sin” would not benefit any antibody protection to an exposure to a novel strain. With the advent of the mRNA inclusion to the Orthomyxo vaccines I definitely will avoid most vaccinations from hereon.
