Washington — The Supreme Court on Friday overturned a landmark 40-year-old decision that gave federal agencies broad regulatory power, upending their authority to issue regulations unless Congress has spoken clearly.

The court split along ideological lines in the dispute, with Chief Justice John Roberts writing for the conservative majority.

The current court is saying:
“You want a law....pass one! We are NOT here to write laws”

Its a big deal. This is one of the foundational pillars of the DC deep state.

Its how permanent, unelected bureaucrats like Fauci or Comey amass so much power in multi-decade careers. Its why woke NGOs, cronies, and corporations game and lobby the Fed.gov bureaucracy to make rules for their benefit, completely outside the legislative process

Thank God! And thank God for President Trump nominating decent Associate Justices to make the right decision.

Now maybe (just maybe) we can begin reining in the out-of-control the Fourth Branch.

This will be huge though it’s one of those cases that is a too bit technical for the average person to really grasp. Basically back in the 1980’s the Supreme Court created the “Chevron Rule” which said when the text of a law is “ambiguous” a federal agency can create their own interpretation of the law and the courts must give deference to their interpretation. Over the years this has created thousands of regulations where and agency twisted and bent their interpretation of a law so much they could essentially create any regulation they wanted too or expand their reach into areas the law never intended. Well, no more. Agency interpretations get no more deference than anybody else’s, and the lower courts are free to ignore them or rule them invalid

What would make this even better would be if the staffs in all the regulatory agencies got pink slips tomorrow morning.

Nice deconstruction. Deserves a repeat.

This is one of the big cases we’ve been waiting for. Long overdue. Thank goodness Chevron deference has finally been struck down.

So the SCOTUS is 1-1 in the really big cases so far with a terrible ruling in Murthy v Missouri allowing the federal government to lean on Big Tech to censor and ban their political opponents but finally striking down another pure invention of the Leftist Warren Burger court after also getting rid of Roe vs Wade in 2022.

“The court split along ideological lines”

This means the 3 communists voted against it. They need to be called what they are.

This is HUGE, HUGE, HUGE. Big implications in all unelected alphabet agencies which have assumed their “regulations” have statutory power.
