CNN flash poll: debate watchers overwhelmingly award Trump victory

Viewers of Thursday night’s presidential debate on CNN hammered President Joe Biden’s historically poor performance.

A CNN flash poll on the debate conducted by SSRS found a whopping 67 percent of those polled believed former President Donald Trump won the debate while only 33 percent believed Biden won.

Significantly, prior to the debate, the same voters said 55 percent to 45 percent that they expected Trump to perform better.

Even with a margin of error of +/-5 percent, the results show an astounding debate night victory for Trump, who has consistently led Biden in polling for months, particularly in critical swing states.

Those polled — voters who watched the debate — are not necessarily reflective of the full voting public. Yet “the results are a shift from 2020, when Biden was seen by debate watchers as outperforming Trump in their presidential debates,” according to CNN’s analysis.

CNN also reported:

A 57% majority of debate-watchers Thursday night say they have no real confidence in Biden’s ability to lead the country, and 44% that they have no real confidence in Trump’s ability to do so. Those numbers are effectively unchanged from the poll taken prior to the debate, in which 55% of those voters said they had no confidence in Biden, and 47% that they lacked confidence in Trump.

Neither candidate scores highly on this metric, but while just 36% of debate watchers now say they have a lot of confidence in Trump’s ability to lead the country, only 14% say the same of Biden.

Everyday voters were not alone in criticizing Biden’s debate performance. Establishment media talking heads flocked to television cameras and social media expressing emotions from disappointment to bewilderment over Biden’s shockingly poor showing, with many calling for him to be replaced on the ticket.

If you wish to be informed, watch a recording of the debate.

Trump learned a great deal from his previous debates. He was measured, on-point, and succinct. He almost never deviated from the question the moderators put forth except to answer something outlandish from Biden. He seldom resorted to personal attacks, and deftly handled the ‘you are a convicted felon’ comment from Biden.

this election will come down to one state.

Pennsylvania

No one the Democrats can run would do better in Pennsylvania than Biden.

Deceived.

Or blind.

Why do people assume Trump can’t beat anyone the democrats put up ?

Because the Rat cheat machine is much more formidable than their candidate. Biden now has a record, and an incumbent running for reelection becomes a referrendum on that incumbent. Replace Biden with a new Rat face, and that dynamic changes considerably. The new face would be free to criticize Biden's record, make promises he/she doesn't intend to keep, etc. The smart move was to wait until the Rats renominated Biden formally. Biden's coherence will not improve in September. It can only get worse.

“ Pennsylvania

That’s an interesting point. Trump is getting into the white hose or whatever place they run the presidency from, is this a reason they were hanging on to JB? If so they’re so lost

Or are they hanging on to him because his people refuse to resign?

Explains why media is suddenly acknowledging Biden’s senility. Apparently, that is the new narrative.

I thought I heard this morning that DNC gets to pick the candidate, after...this is all I remember, but sounds ominous.

Why do people assume Trump can’t beat anyone the democrats put up ?

Because people believe any fake poll the Rats friends (including FOX) in the media produce.

It amazes me how you can have a politician on one side who only knows how to create problems and spend a lot of other peoples money, and a businessman on the other side who does what he says he's going to do, solves problems and looks for ways to save money. But the polls and the enemedia tell us the politician is better.

After the last 16 years (12 of politician and 4 of businessman) Americans should see the difference. The southern border and the strategic use of tariffs to address trade deficits with China and Europe should be great examples.

The best example is the move of our embassy in Israel to Tel Aviv. Politician Presidents of all stripes talked about it for years, but did nothing. President Trump moved the Embassy and saved a bundle doing it by selecting a perfect site that the US already owned. The move was instrumental in achieving the Abraham accords and middle east peace.

No question that Biden was a disaster.
Trump was okay. But, he could have done much better. Missed many opportunities for a political kill shot.

“67 percent of those polled believed former President Donald Trump won the debate while only 33 percent believed Biden won.”

Won’t change voting. Doesn’t change anything.

The illegals will still vote for Joe
The Democrats will still vote for Joe, or whomever is running things.
The voter fraud will still happen in huge numbers.
The lawfare will continue.

I hold these truths to be self evident:
1. Joe Biden, even drugged and wired, proved himself unworthy of the office he holds.
2. Joe Biden isn’t running anything. The debate settled that debate.
3. Anybody who voted for Joe Biden, and doesn’t acknowledge the first two, cares to much about personality and not enough about country.

“Why is media suddenly acknowledging the truth about Biden’s disability?”

As bad as he was, Biden probably did better than I expected he would. What did these media people think would happen?

My question is, other than Jill Biden, who were the 33% that thought Biden performed better than Trump at the debate. You have to be hospitalized with a terminal case of Trump derangement syndrome to go that far in suspending reality.
