trump should either drop out or go freestyle on CNN, by which i mean ignore the moderators altogether and address biden directly every time his microphone is on.
the worst CNN can do to that would be to cut off Trump, which would backfire and make trump look good.
Trump has no incentive to debate CNN. any time Trump were to debate the CNN moderator, it would shift attention away from trump and to CNN and the moderator. this would be counterproductive to trump’s campaign.

Agreed that dropping out now is not a good idea, the time to do that was right up front. But I was thinking, what would Trump have to lose if he set out truly objective criteria for the debate (network, moderators) but the DNC would not agree and no debate?
I don’t see how anyone can see Biden and Trump speaking on the same stage, and not realize that something is seriously wrong with the former.
I’m (cautiously) looking forward to this.

Trump should insist that Jake Tapper have Karoline Leavitt on his show tonight or tomorrow, and not cut her off.
He is right but Trump agreed to it as is, even though it as obviously a total rigg job. Trump had leverage but didn’t use it. He can’t back out now, too late.
President Trump is excellent at breaking all the rules—any time—any place.
He can back out now and be just fine.

That's why I do not think it matters that much this time even if Biden "wins" the debate. The American voter will see that it's rigged.
He could have said NO from the beginning. EVERYONE knows who Jake Tapper and Dana Bash are, their politics are known to EVERYONE, he could have said “No I refuse to have those two particular anti trump moderators be involved in this debate” Biden had already refused to do a fox news debate and that was fine, Trump could have said no, getting out now would make him look like a chicken, that he knows he will lose and lose badly he cant back out now..if he wanted to back out he could have done so weeks ago
They didn’t even try to spin the Hillary debate. They just said it didn’t matter. I said it was unlikely to happen but if you hear a sizeable contingency saying, “he did great” and then pivot towards it not changing minds then it was a bad night for Biden.
each one should get to chose the others moderator.
Trump could pick Levin or someone like him that will drill him hard.
All Trump has to do is show up, act presidential, give the facts about what is going on in this country and let Biden talk, Biden is his own worst enemy if he is allowed to yap
I understand where Bannon is coming from, but it might actually behoove Trump to continue on as planned, and mention how disgusting he finds CNN to be for doing what they did to his spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt. That this debate had better not be a repeat of that disgraceful display of disrespect, and you wonder why your ratings are like the worst ever. and continues to fall. Put them on defense right out of the gate to set the tone. 🤣
It’s been the same with every debate he’s been in though - and I can’t recall an instance where the D’s or the media came out on top.
Trump is a fighter, he doesn’t back down. If it were me, I wouldn’t - but Trump will do what he’s always done.
My bet is that he’ll reach out to all the D State’s, all the black and Latino voters. They’ll try to call him a racist - but that has worn so thin it’ll probably just expose them even more. They’ll also make sure they call him a ‘convicted felon’ - of which he’ll be prepared.
On the other hand, with Trump, you could look at it as not a fair fight - for the media. They’re so exposed, ratings collapsing, but are too arrogant to see their weakness. He’ll take it too them, heads will explode - even though it’s predictable.
I agree—President Trump should have said no.
However once you make a bad mistake that does not justify continuing to make that mistake.
One lesson I have learned in life is stop doubling down on mistakes—no matter how painful it might seem at the time.

We’ll see. The rats control the cameras, the mics and l have no doubt Biden knows every question and the order they will be asked in. If there is a way to get the answers where Biden can read them they do that too.
