The centerpiece of President Biden’s reelection campaign is labeling former President Donald Trump as a threat to democracy, but critics say Mr. Biden’s attacks on the presumptive Republican nominee also pose a risk for Americans’ freedoms.
In a series of speeches, Mr. Biden has apocalyptically warned that Mr. Trump and his followers would dismantle democracy if he wins the election. The source of such concern, Mr. Biden says, is Mr. Trump’s insistence that the 2020 presidential election was stolen, which culminated in violence at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, when a pro-Trump mob stormed the building.
Mr. Biden also has accused his predecessor of embracing authoritarian language, including Mr. Trump’s claim that he would be a dictator on “Day One.” Mr. Trump has insisted he spoke in jest.
“Here we are in 2024 and what we’re fighting for is clear. It’s freedom — in the literal sense — freedom, democracy, America,” Mr. Biden said at a June campaign fundraiser in Virginia. “The threat Trump poses would be greater in a second term than it was in his first term.”
At the same fundraiser, Mr. Biden mentioned Mr. Trump 17 times, “freedom” eight times and democracy four times. In contrast, he mentioned the economy only twice and inflation three times.
But historians and politicians say democracy is just fine. They note that America’s presidential election is being held on time, participation rates are healthy and federal and local governments are stable and functioning as the U.S. Constitution intended.
Under Mr. Biden’s watch, Congress has passed several significant bills with largely bipartisan support, including tightening gun laws and bolstering computer chip manufacturing.

Who votes are not important, it is who or what counts the votes and now many vote more than once or for someone else.

Demoracy, to them, is held together by the administrative state and so they use the term synonymously with the permanent bureaucracy class. In this case, the biggest reason to vote for Trump is because he is such a threat to their idea Of Democracy.

Oh jeeze, where is the ‘we are a republic’ (whatever that is supposed to mean) contingent? The term ‘democracy’ tends to set them off.
Trump does represent a threat to Biden’s democracy. As stated in another thread: “Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch.”
Trump’s goal is to restore our Constitutional Republic, protect our culture and restore law and order for our legal citizens.
One interesting part of Athenian democracy was the process of sortition where the office of the various magistrates was selected at random and could only be held for one year. Somehow I doubt the deep state's version of Our Democracy™ would accept a government where the Attorney General or head of the FBI is picked by lot from the citizenry every year.
