An Israeli peace activist who was kidnapped and held hostage for 53 days in Gaza said the horrifying experience shattered her longstanding belief that there could be peace between Palestinians and Israelis.
“I don’t believe in peace, I don’t, sorry. I changed my mind,” Ada Sagi, who was captured by Hamas on Oct. 7, at the start of the Israel-Hamas war, told the BBC.
For decades, Sagi, 75, lived in the Nir Oz kibbutz near the Israel-Gaza border and taught Israelis Arabic so that they could speak to their neighbors.
Now, she’s urging the Israeli government to agree to a ceasefire and release the other 116 hostages who remain captive by Hamas.
“For many years, I believed in peace. It’s the reason why I started to teach Arabic at school. Maybe it will bring peace between the Arab people in Israel and the Jewish people,” she recalled thinking. “But from year to year, I understand Hamas don’t want it.”
Sagi, who turned 75 while in captivity, was among 105 hostages released in November in exchange for a week-long ceasefire and the release of some 240 Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails

It was a mugging on steroids but at least the lesson was learned.
“It seems like people learn the lesson, but they really don’t.”
Agreed. 911 - never forget... right?
Well, Hamas has been telling the world they don't want peace since they came into existence.
Took her this long to catch up, and only because it affected her directly.
Not a smart person.
they should be made to live for a year somewhere in africa...

If ‘they’ are black, the West Coast Africans do not want them.
Typical liberal suicidal Israeli - they live in bubble with the rest of their ilk.
Babylon bee?.........Had to look...........
Israeli peace activist held hostage by Hamas doesn’t ‘believe in peace’ anymoreand one line in the story:
Now, she’s urging the Israeli government to agree to a ceasefire and release the other 116 hostages who remain captive by Hamas.are contradictory.
Perhaps she was released too early.
If one simply took the Palis at their word and the hatred they spew there would be no illusions but somehow the kumbayah folks dismiss it all with the wave of a hand....so yeah fools. It’s like picking up a cobra and being surprised once it bites.
For about 15 years I had quite a study in blacks born here and ones that have emigrated here.
Neighbors one side, the husband was from Miami, the wife North Carolina......they always had trouble with our HOA, had no idea how to maintain the house much less the yard and eventually allowed the bank to foreclose on the house.
A flipper bought and rebuilt it. He told me it was in the worst condition of any house he had ever rehabbed.
On the other side a family that had emigrated from Ghana west Africa, both husband and wife were educated in the UK and hold degrees in nursing. Raised 3 children. The daughter got her nursing degree, the oldest son is attending a local university and the youngest son is more than likely at the top of his high school class.
They are without a doubt THE best neighbors we’ve ever had hands down.
So I don’t want to hear that crap about stereotyping “American” blacks.....I’ve seen it 1st hand and I know better.
Wipe them out, all of them. Sprinkle salt on Gaza so the the Philistines cannot rise again. Treat them like the Romans treated Carthage. Make them pay for their crimes against Israel. They do not deserve to live on this Earth. Leave them for God’s judgment.
Peace is nice to have when you can get it. But in this world it is often a burden and an unrealistic goal.
Now, now.
Or, this one: A hard head makes for a soft ass!
Others of her opinion have emboldened Hamas, who knows such people will tear down the Israel government and military. That 75 year old is a dolt it’s of no value that she taught Arabic. I hope her family is saying, Ma shut up already.
Still awaiting comments from Rachel Corrie...
Like a libtard who gets mugged and their brain suddenly functions
Except your experience is the exception, not the rule.
