WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Senate’s version of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) includes a provision that would require women to register for Selective Service, marking a significant potential change in military policy.
On page three of the NDAA, under the heading of “Strengthening the Joint Force and Defense Workforce,” the Military Selective Service Act would be amended to require the registration of women for Selective Service.
While some lawmakers oppose the measure, others argue it would benefit the government. Senator Josh Hawley (R-MO) voiced his concerns during a committee meeting.
“I just think it’s wrong to say to women, ‘We’re going to involuntarily put you in the military.’ If they want to join voluntarily, that’s fantastic,” he said. “My sister proudly served in the United States Navy. There are so many women in the armed forces doing terrific work. Women have been part of the military since its founding, and that’s awesome. But that’s not what we’re talking about. They’re talking about drafting women involuntarily, and I’m totally opposed to that. I’m also worried about the expansion of the draft.”
In contrast, Congresswoman Chrissy Houlahan (D-PA) supports the amendment.
“This amendment would purely cut the government red tape that exists and allow an important government office to be more efficient and save money for more American taxpayers,” she said.
The NDAA also includes a 4.5% raise for military members and a 2% raise for Department of Defense civilian workers.
Former first son Donald Trump Jr. criticized the move, stating, “Democrats want to draft your daughters to fight the wars that no one in America outside of the military industrial complex wants to be in.”

It’s absolutely disgusting to take a traditional young American girl, force her into obedience to a female the lesbian drill instructor, lesbian officers, and put her in a unit where the young bucks try to mount them, steal their best relationship building and childbearing years, and massive get them killed.
And don’t come at me with an idea but maybe they can do community service like work in the ghetto teaching kids to read them urban Baltimore or East St. Louis. Slavery is for bidden. The constitution defines slavery is involuntary servitude and does not have an exemption for the draft. When they made that amendment, they knew exactly where the military draft was and did not provide an exception for it.
Woodrow Wilson in the progressive era used the World War I declaration of war to argue that America had “volunteered” en masse, through congress. That’s why it’s named selective service. The government argues that it’s not really a draft, that it’s merely the government selecting from a giant pool of volunteers.
But last I checked, the constitution does forbid involuntary servitude. I will help any child resist the draft with all the energy I have especially since they’re going to be in the service of this filthy DC government.
The law does not allow them to only be assigned admin support and supply. By law, every MOS in the military does not have any sex requirement. So you cannot do an Auschwitz selection where women go to one path, and males go to the infantry.
Yeah that’s nice, maybe 2/3 of young females think that way. But there’s about a third that are Christian, want to get an education and pursue marriage, a commensurate job, and children.
I am not on board with punishing the decent traditional girls of America because of the wild screaming of the Radfems that they cannot control.
shine a glorious light on our weak, cowardly society where they need to draft girls to fill the ranks....
so reflective of our so called "leadership"...
Hear! Hear! And amen!
Enough with this androgynous BS! Man and women are different and there is no injustice in treating them differently. Indeed, it is unjust to treat them contrary to their natures. Feminism is not pro-women; it is anti-women, trying to erase their essential character and forcing them to live as if they were men.
but I want to see them drafted and I want all those manly men to watch as their daughters and their granddaughters are brutalized, raped, killed ....
because drafting females shows the rot of our American male populace...
the lack of male leadership IS the problem....
Pandora’s Box/Jar has been opened, too many males will refuse for an irrational war far away from the borders and if pushed, will go en mass to visit their Representatives’ family members around their district.
Equal rights don't exist in child custody battles.
Well, this day and age, as women can join and serve in most roles, as they can run for office, even be president, then they should share and shoulder the same burden as men. Register both. Besides, this may slow down leaders from starting wars and calling up youth if it includes their daughters.
...but it's been okay to do that to men for centuries.
So... it's a punishment - and there's no issue with punishing men for crimes they didn't commit.
Bingo. The soldiers serving under General Washington were paid volunteers.
Why should women be excluded from selective service if they have the privilidge/right to vote for politicians that have the power to declare war? Why are they exempt from their “responsibilities”? Its not like the modern day female will suddenly turn housewife (Take on a husband) and start producing children to make up for the men who will die.
Modern women today avoid responsibilities and have no agency. Please continue lying to yourself, the hypocrisy is very amusing (BTW, for historical purposes the men who wrote the draft provision came at a time where only males-property owners could vote).
Women have declared such statements as misogynist.
They can do anything a man can do; cop, firefighter, soldier, body in the morgue, anything. Who are you to deny them the opportunity to show just how well they can do it?
North Koreans?
...young women men who just want to get married and have a family have no business being forced into war slavery.
Even men who don't want to get married and have a family have no business being forced into war slavery.
Welcome to equality.
Yes.
