Louisiana is the first state to require the display of the Ten Commandments in every public school classroom after Republican Gov. Jeff Landry signed a bill into law Wednesday.
Under the legislation, H.B. 71, a poster-sized display of the Ten Commandments in "large, easily readable font" is required in all public classrooms, from kindergartens to state-funded universities. Over the weekend, Landry touted the bill at a fundraiser in Tennessee.
"I’m going home to sign a bill that places the Ten Commandments in public classrooms," he said, according to a report in the Tennessean. "And I can’t wait to be sued."

What a waste of time. This will be thrown out almost immediately.
Thanks for posting.
It’s just virtue signalling. “Look at us, we’re owning the libs”
What about the civil rights of Christians? Are the Libs so afraid of the possibility that someone, a child perhaps might be positively influenced by God’s laws and turn away from their filthy, reprobate behaviors.
‘New Louisiana law requires display of Ten Commandments in classrooms, civil rights groups plan to challenge’
I’m not surprised they are.
That should tell us all we need to know about the lefty mindset and worldview.
Civil Rights groups are just a bunch of tantrum-throwing Nazis.
Why the hell are the stores all loaded with homosexual rainbow crap and they have nothing for the Umpteenth Free African Slaves to celebrate with? I didn’t hear of one Umpteenth cookout going on anywhere in this area.
Sounds like they’re starting to get a sense of what law truly is.
Maybe teachers can be authorized to cover up those commandments they find personally offensive.
Hope Landry ignores any and all court decisions that don’t side with him.
The Left ignores whatever they want with no consequences
Judge: take that stuff down
Landry: No
Judge: I’ll send someone to take it down
Landry: I’ll make sure they don’t. And I don’t care if they have guns and badges. They have no juice on state property and our guys are better with guns.
This will never fly, Orville. You need to choose your battles wisely, Governor. You don’t have unlimited time, nor infinite resources. It’s time to start thinking things through.
and the alert is allowed to abuse the interpretation of “Separation of Church and State”.
The only thing it does is prevent a state sponsored religion like they had in England, oh so long ago.
The First Amendment bans the Federal Government from placing any restrictions on the free exercise of religion.
The Tenth Amendment reserves any powers not delegated to it to the States or the People. There are no powers delegated to the Federal government to regulate education or teaching materials used in the states for eduction.
I see no basis for a court to restrict the display of the Ten Commandments in schools in any state.
And the Incorporation Doctrine is BS anyway.
Yep this is the sort of pandering nonsense the GOP does to appease us while not solving any real problems like the illegals pouring over the border.
Agree
Uh, I must have been out that first day then, because I was never "exposed to this." In fact, what you're asserting never came up in three years. Sorry.
Landry is going in the wrong direction. If conservatives want to do something useful on this front, they should push to get government out of education altogether.
"Public" education should be abolished, at every level. That would solve a host of societal problems right there.
