Tenochitlan (Mexico City today) is not in Northwest Mexico.
You might want to look up Cortez and the Aztecs.
In 1536, Cortés explored the northwestern part of Mexico and discovered the Baja California peninsula. Cortés also spent time exploring the Pacific coast of Mexico. The Gulf of California was originally named the Sea of Cortés by its discoverer Francisco de Ulloa in 1539. This was the last major expedition by Cortés.You might want to study up on Cortés a little more. He was in Mexico from 1518 to 1541 which gave him plenty of time for expeditions far afield.
The thought just occurred to me that you may not realize that Baja California, is a state in Mexico. It is the northernmost and westernmost of the 32 federal entities of Mexico.
I lived in Mexico and have been to Baja.
I stand by what I said.
I don't know what to think. My original comment on this thread was that Cortés didn't explore farther north than that in response to a question. The gulf was even named the "Sea of Cortés."
I never said Cortez didn’t discover Baja. If I did, please show me where and I will stand corrected.
Way up the thread I had posted that *DeSoto didn’t make it past Texas.* and then DIRTYSECRET asked, "Interesting. Did Cortez?"

I replied:
The closest he made it to was Baja, California in Northwest Mexico. Then you replied to me:

King Charles V appointed Cortés as governor, captain general and chief justice of the newly conquered territory, dubbed "New Spain of the Ocean Sea".
Cortés made excursions all around the Caribbean and Central America

Where did I say Cortex didn’t discover Baja? Point it out.
They are also El Paso high schools. And names of companies. And towns. And a car brand.
The fact a moron brought them up when people are dead and 1500 families lose homes, with zero relevance to the topic, is a sign of a diseased mind.
Arson:
NO lighting and multiple failed attempts at a fire start, all along the way, all close to roads/trails.
The FBI has been called in.
That said, we played an active role in what we are now reaping, by paying little attention as to what are nation was doing, because we believed our leaders were righteous and were doing what was necessary to protect the citizens. So we continued on living our lives while paying little attention what they were doing to others. Not to make our citizens safer but to levitate their careers.
