One of the biggest developments of this campaign — and the biggest difference between 2016, 2020 and today — is the lack of fear of another Donald Trump term.
It may explain why President Joe Biden’s campaign — and before that, the primary campaigns of Republicans like Nikki Haley — struggled to move voters away from Trump by reminding them of his questionable character traits and chaotic governing style.
And right now, with the decision by Biden’s campaign to do whatever it takes to make this election a referendum on Trump and character, this lack of fear of Trump could be a real stumbling block as they try to galvanize voters to remember what Trump’s presidency was really like.
Think of it in simpler terms. The first time you went on a roller coaster that goes upside down, you likely had a pit in your stomach and perhaps worried about whether you’d fall out. For some, that fear is so great, it keeps them from even attempting the ride. But after riding said roller coaster without falling, that fear dissipated.
One of the great disconnects in the coverage of Trump today is the lack of memory the public has for many of the details of the Trump years, as opposed to the scarred memories those of us who covered Trump still have. Thanks to the pandemic and the human mind’s ability to memory-hole unhappy periods, a large chunk of the public has simply forgotten about the daily chaos Trump intentionally created with his presidency.
And yet, I’m convinced the sole reason why Trump lost the 2020 election was not due to his antics in 2017, 2018 or 2019 — but because of his erratic leadership during the pandemic itself.

The Globalist stole the 2020 election
Fact
Common sense folks fear illegals and war and lack of purchasing power. And dementia Joe.
The rest are afraid of imaginary made up might could happen scenarios. And jokes and memes. F Chuck Todd is afraid his propaganda no longer works.
Trump working around the many obstacles put in place by entrenched do nothing Swamp Critters in DC to accomplish many positive things for the American people as president, is in Upchuck Todd’s opinion, characteristic of Trump’s chaotic governing style.
All democrats don’t condemn violence by their side.
Even Pol Pot had more character than today’s leading Democrats.
“Chuck Todd is afraid his propaganda no longer works.“
If he’s not he ought to be. This 36 paragraph babble is like from a news reporter mumbling on camera while everything is falling down, on fire, panicking masses flee behind him.
He’s yammering about roller coaster rides and bleach injections. He’s stuck in 2016 on replay.
“Upchuck just said, basically, all the fear over Trump is imaginary.”
What was imaginary is that Trump caused the chaos instead of the RAT party and their media. Fake news, screaming press conferences, ridiculous impeachments, ridiculous, investigations of Russian collusions... etc.
Donald Trump has character. The DemonRats don’t.
Yeah peace and prosperity are really bad, chuckie.
I think you are right; however, the democrats main problem with ordaining that is that the attempt is tamped daily whenever anyone tries to survive economically and sometimes literally with the new millions of criminals Biden has allowed in.
It’s about the economy stupid.
And this is the same guy moderating the first presidential debate in about 2 weeks? Not even trying to hide his Trump Derangement Syndrome, so you know he will be teasing Trump during the debate.
Trashing not teasing
What a pussy.
Reminding them of his questionable character traits and chaotic governing style that he didn’t use.
Democrats fear the carrot on a stick act might go away along with whacking the money on deals and new rules and laws and kickbacks..................................................
Todd is just acknowledging the reality of this election.
Biden is ‘toast’ this November and no amount of cheating by the democrats or “cry baby defeatism” by Freepers will change this fact.
I believe what "F Chuck Todd" means is, "you had a bad feeling in the pit of your stomach."
Of course the press was rooting for Trump to lose. Reporters weren’t going to admit that on camera, but everybody knew what side they were on and what they were doing.
What was so wrong though, about journalists being “exhausted”? Weren’t they adrenaline junkies excited by the rush to get their reports in before the deadlines? I suspect what they disliked was that Trump challenged them and that they couldn’t easily bring him down like they did other presidents.
