The U.S. government on Tuesday acknowledged, for the first time, the harmful role it has played over the past century in building and operating dams in the Pacific Northwest — dams that devastated Native American tribes by inundating their villages and decimating salmon runs while bringing electricity, irrigation and jobs to nearby communities.

There are 35 Indian casinos in Washington state

There are 8 Indian casinos in Oregon

Cut the electrical power to all of them

I suggest bulldozing the Dams and the Casinos. Turn the clock back 100 years. Then let’s see who whines the loudest.

Who is this “US?” Without power Indians would still be living in teepees and warring among themselves

Can the indians acknowledge the damage their gambling casinos due to individuals and families?

Oh, guess we can’t have that admission...

Errr...what about the fish ladders that the fish jump through.

Besides..do they think that the Indians really WANT to live like they did back in 1750?

We could just a easily blame any progress for “ruining” the way of the past.

Far more indians were killed by flooding, that was rampant in these regions before the dams were installed. In fact, flood control was the primary reason most of the dams were built.

This is to spur another round of reparations discussions, this time from the Indian tribes. As we speak, white liberals are already drafting $100-500 Billion in reparations for Indian tribes.

Holy toledo,,, ,so now we will be looking at reparations for Indian tribes, in addition to reparations for slavery.?

Jeez Louise....

Can’t we say that since Indians can have casinos, but the rest of us cannot, that this is a form of reparations?

The Drive-By Media will never disclose the recent ENVIRONMENTAL DISASTER perpetrated by the democRATS. Just search Klamath dam damage, disaster. In their insane efforts to fix something that was not a problem, they have decimated huuuuge areas. Not only the environmental damage, but the continued destruction of all forms of electrical generation. After initial costs, the electricity from water in dams is fantastic. Inexpensive, abundant energy equals more freedom, and the democRATS cannot abide any such expansion of freedom and opportunity. They refuse to build any more real electric power generation, and work to destroy any present generation.

PS....The Hetch Hetchy dam supplies much of San Francisco, and the SF peninsula, with water. The Kalifornia environ wackos began an effort to destroy that dam also. Once the local SF wackos realized it was their own water source, the campaign to destroy Hetch Hetchy went nowhere.

“We could just a easily blame any progress for “ruining” the way of the past.”

You are exactly right. Out with all your infrastructure!

We are the natives now! What is being done to generations of families breaching these dams is unconstitutional and ugly.
What is being done to us is exactly what happened to these ‘natives’ ANCESTORS... NOT THEMSELVES! These are thriving ecosystems. Our Irongate Dam
Gone as of May. All the value of the family property is gone with it.
MY ENTIRE FAMILY’S FUTURE IS DESTROYED BECAUSE OF THIS phony victim BULLSHIT!
We can’t stop the fires or floods now.
