“The resistance to a new Trump administration has already started,” the New York Times reported yesterday. The piece was based on interviews with more than thirty officials of organizations that are preparing for the potential re-election of Donald J. Trump.
They claim democracy is doomed and the “radical changes with authoritarian overtones” that Trump plans “include using the Justice Department to take revenge on his adversaries, sending federal troops into Democratic cities, carrying out mass deportations, building huge camps to hold immigrant detainees, making it easier to fire civil servants and replace them with loyalists and expanding and centralizing executive power.”
“ What Trump and his acolytes are running on is an authoritarian playbook. So now we have to democracy-proof our actual institutions and the values that we share,” said Patrick Gaspard, the chief executive of the CAP Action Fund. But the NYT assures us the “Times journalists are not allowed to endorse or campaign for candidates or political causes. That includes participating in rallies and donating money to a candidate or cause.”
Storing up mifepristone pills, mass protests, legal challenges and a ”flurry of regulations” from the Biden administration are some of the precautions progressive organizations are taking.
Trump campaign spokesman Steven Cheung responded to the article: “It’s not surprising Biden and his cronies are working overtime to stymie the will of the American people after they vote to elect President Trump and his America First agenda. Their devious actions are a direct threat to democracy.”
Cheung has a point: if the voters elect Donald Trump, wouldn’t it be anti-democratic for the progressive “resistance” to try and stymie his agenda?
There’s an opportunity there. We could save lots of taxpayer money by firing them.
“firing”
Federal regulations are complex and often poorly written.
That makes firing them quite impractical.
Yes by golly we must protect democracy
There appears to be a new pattern of propaganda/gaslighting ‘preparing’ the public for a 2nd Trump term.
This concerns me an order of magnitude greater than my prior speculation merely on the debate.
Rather than looking like lighting matches, it smacks of something subtle, like ‘code’...which might explain why there are no flames (yet).
“save lots of taxpayer money by firing them”
Better budgeting would save far more money.
Better program design would save far more money.
One million people at $120,000/year each is $120 billion.
The federal budget is about 40 times that $120 billion.
Ted Cruz’s opponent is campaigning like a conservative and running television ads around the clock.
The Democratic leaders were inflammatory!
Where are the J6 flames?
“On Wednesday, Cruz begged for donations on Fox News and complained that Allred is out fundraising O’Rourke in his 2018 run by a margin of 3 to 1.”
“Allred, a college football star who played four seasons with the Tennessee Titans, left the NFL in 2011 to pursue a law career. After earning his J.D. at the University of California, Berkeley Law School, he worked as an attorney at Perkins Coie law firm, and held positions in the White House Counsel’s office under the Obama, and the Maryland U.S. Attorney’s Office. “
All the makings of a ‘rat make for a ‘rat.
That link doesn’t work.
I don’t see that on their X feed.

Oddly this site picked it up and “The General tweeted about this development on June 18, 2024. Stay updated on the latest news and updates by following The General on Twitter.”
Bizarre.
I looked for this account to no avail, maybe I should wait until June 18th, obv tomorrow and it will appear? LOL
University of California, Berkeley Law School - leftist
Perkins Coie law firm - leftist [I believe]
White House Counsel’s office under the Obama - leftist
Maryland U.S. Attorney’s Office - leftist
GOP is a big 1/3 betting fav to take the Senate.
Odds have not been posted on the House but IMO it is going to be around a toss up.
I’m not sure what to make of this (my system lacks bandwidth and processing power):

It might be a SC action in respect to a NY Trump case.
Thank you for the effort. Good find.
it is hard to tell if that is new or has been there since the Roe leak.
Also, Perkins Coie is the leftist go to law firm. Your belief is 100% correct.
This time, we know who you are. NO more SES or General officer promotions within your ranks. No more ‘bonuses’ for doing your jobs. Mass transfers from critical jobs to ones out in the lesser Antilles or Alaska (keep your pay rate). No meritorious service awards for non combat, non wounded actions. Plus+ institute a government-wide investigation in each ‘degree holder’s” transcripts, as well as NCIC checks for holds and warrants.
Yes he did that and more to come!
Hope trump is on board with is own counter resistance, its not just winning its bringing these parasites to justice, American tax payer money well spent
I agree. The 51 singers of the letter proclaiming Hunter’s laptop was Russian disinformation should spend at least some time in the poky.
And, of course, AG Garland for refusing to turn over Biden/Hur’s tape interview to Congress.
Perkins Coe was instrumental in implementing Russiagate
It’s a go to democrat operations firm in DC
It’s more than just liberal
Its Deep States Version of what Cravath Swain is to Wall Street
