Former President Barack Obama despairs at the state of political discourse in 2024, telling some 80 digital content creators we live in a “cynical time” and he finds solace in watching sports instead.
The Hill reports Obama made his revelation at a glittering Biden campaign fundraiser with the president on Saturday in Los Angeles, telling a select group of TikTok and Instagram creators he understands the challenge “influencers” face avoiding politics in their work.
“We live in a cynical time,” Obama said. “Let’s face it: I think a lot of the people who watch you, listen to you, who are fans of you — a lot of times they feel turned off by the political discourse.”

Ha! HE’s leading it!
Hillary Clinton was extremely unpopular. If she lost the country in 2016, is it so hard to believe that she lost the nomination in 2008 to “the first Black president?” Plus, it was Clinton who cheated. She got the debate questions from Donna Brazille.
Obama was involved in the surveillance of Trump, but the intelligence and enforcement agencies of the government were more than willing to do that on their own.
Trump lucked out when he ran against Hillary in 2016.
Obama is of the Devil.
If Trump makes it back to the White House (prayers!),
I hope he considers including Kellyanne Conway.
Kellyanne is a very able planner, and explainer of policy.
It is ‘unfortunate’ that George Conway is her husband, but they’re finally getting divorced.
🤣 Good work!
Obama’s favorite sport is watching Larry Sinclair bob for apples with his hand tied behind his back. Right Barry? I’m sure you can tell some stories about yourself and Larry in the backseat of his limo.
I met Joe Biden when he came up to NH for the July 4th parade.
This was the year BEFORE Obama was the nominee. Hillary was the still the chosen one. The July prior to the NH Primary.
When the big candidates for POTUS show up they typically have one to two bus loads of supporters. Romney had two bus loads of blonde haired, blue eyed Mormon kids with him.
Biden showed up all by himself. No entourage. He walked in the parade and then spent at least twenty minutes talking to me and mostly my mom. She was in her 70s then. He was very personable but I really did not have that much interest in talking to him. He talked my mom’s ear off. He seemed okay, but just another politician.
He is now a shell of his former self.
I actually kind of liked Biden when he used to call into the Don Imus radio show because you never knew what he was going to say. He was a loose cannon. A big mouth that sometimes said things he was not supposed to say. Which is why Imus loved to have him on the show. They used to call him Plugs.
He bought a house down the street from Whitehouse and it’s all wired up as a 2nd white house. He said he would love a third term if he could do it outside of the white house. Biden can barely walk and talk no way he is making decisions for our country.
Hillary gave him her donor list in return made her secretary of state. Then he stabbed her in the back as it was to be her turn when Trump won. He disappeared.
Reruns of the Hollywood Pride Parade are not actually what
one would call a sport, but carry on Mrs. Obama.
Says the guy who started all of the political discourse.
Check
Biden was picked because he can be easily lead. He has no clue what day it is.
There is dislike on this website for Kellyanne Conway, but I always liked her. She seemed like a go getter.
I guess they don’t like that she lived in the same house with George Conway, because he is a definite fruit bat.
So true, isn’t it?
What does he think about what his party members are doing to Trump?
Hows he feel about Hillarys part in Russia Russia?
