Jakub Kumoch reveals the backstage of the negotiations. Russia did not want peace, only the capitulation of Ukraine

Russia did not want peace, only the capitulation of Ukraine. Jakub Kumoch, former Secretary of State of President Andrzej Duda, who accompanied the Ukrainian delegation to negotiations with Russia in Belarus and Turkey in the spring of 2022, told the newspaper The Polish Times. The Introduction

- That negotiations were a dead end. Moscow did not want a lasting peace - this is how Jakub Kumoch says about the backstage negotiations between Ukraine and Russia in the spring of 2022. Today he is the ambassador of the Republic of Poland to China, in 2022 he is the Secretary of State of President Andrzej Duda and was responsible for creating Polish policy towards Ukraine.

It was the Ukrainian authorities who asked the Polish side in the spring of 2022 to transport its delegation to Belarus, where meetings of Russian and Ukrainian negotiators were held.

The Polish diplomat is straightening the message from the Western media that at that time it was close to peace, only the Ukrainian side broke the negotiations. According to Kumocha, it was Moscow from the beginning that was not intended to bring peace, all she wanted was the capitulation of Ukraine.

Jakub Kumoch reveals to us in an interview for the first time some conversations, describes the situations, fragments of documents from that time, those that he can reveal.

What did this document look like?

Let us call it mildly: singularly. It was a draft with the comments of both sides. The document was clearly prepared before the Russian invasion and by the Russians. He provided, among other things, the recognition of the annexation of Crimea, the so-called independence of the eastern regions of Ukraine, the reduction of the size of the Ukrainian army, bilingualism, the ban on joining NATO, perpetual neutrality, etc. There were also purely demeaning elements, such as a commitment to denazification or the introduction of the Great Patriotic War, as the Russians call their contribution to World War II. Things that A State never imposes on State B. Meanwhile, Russia has brought in the entire list of laws that Ukraine is to change. It began with the Constitution.

Once and for all put an end to the myth that Ukraine could have come to some good agreement with Putin early in the invasion in 2022.

Former Polish Secretary of State Jakub Kumoch, who was there, stated "Russia did not want peace, only the capitulation of Ukraine."

Russians demanded "the recognition of the annexation of Crimea, the so-called independence of the eastern regions of Ukraine, the reduction of the size of the Ukrainian army, bilingualism, the ban on joining NATO, perpetual neutrality, etc. There were also purely demeaning elements, such as a commitment to denazification or the introduction of the Great Patriotic War, as the Russians call their contribution to World War II."

There are no benefits to Russia taking Ukraine. It means they will have to police a state which will fight back through the shadows. If Trump wins, this is over within a week. A simple, “we are going to drill and undercut your energy industry, bankrupting you” will be enough to get them to the table.

Zelensky will have to give up a lot of Deep State people.

Its called rebuilding the Russian empire.

"Without Ukraine the 'Russian Empire' cannot exist" Alexander Dugin, Putin's Nazi ideologue, says it clearly. What he calls the 'Russian Empire' is the USSR whose mummy Putin wants to resurrect.

Without Ukraine the 'Russian Empire' cannot exist

It’s not about benefits to Russia. It’s Putin trying to restore the Russian/Soviet empire.

Natural resources are one of the important factors of Russian military aggression, which often remains unattended. Forbes estimated the cost of minerals in Ukraine at $ 14.8 trillion.

At the same time, more than 70% of the total amount falls on only three regions - Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk and Luhansk. In the total value of minerals, 62% is provided by coal, 14% is iron ore, each of the other assets is less than 5%. The total volume of minerals is 111 billion tons.

Ukraine has been estimated to possess natural gas reserves of over 670 billions cubic meters (in 2022), and in 2018 was ranked 26th among countries with proved reserves of natural gas. Its total gas reserves have been estimated at 1.870 trillion cubic meters.

The Russians have clearly shown they are in no position to try such a silly initiative. There is no empire to be had. Theyve been stalemated for 3 years almost, for a few slivers of Ukraine.

You are correct but the neocons here and everywhere need their boogieman and Russia is it. It is they who parked it right on the border of Russia and kept moving NATO eastward.

They leave out the fact that it is they who are trying to takeover everyone else to install a communist world order.

This thread is a circle jetk of ignorance and wishful thinking. The Poles are in the front line of those calling for WW III so the US can teach Russians a big lesson. No wonder they’re history has been so tragic.

The Poles aren’t calling for WWIII.

What they are calling for is for the Kremlin to give up its tactic of threatening and invading its neighbors for the simple reason that if Muscowy succeeded with Ukraine as it did with Georgia, then the Baltics and Poland would be next in line.

The Russians have clearly shown they are in no position to try such a silly initiative.

two points:

  1. Until the Russians were defeated at the battle of Hostomel airport, it looked very clear to everyone (including me) that they were in a position to win and do that (assimilating Ukraine into Muscowy) - they already did that in Georgia in 2008 and partially in Ukraine in 2014 and had semi-absorbed Bialorus already. it looked very doable. But the battle of hostomel changed those calculations for outsiders

  2. However, internally the Muscowites haven't realized it yet. They will still throw bodies into the fire without seeing the damage they are doing to themselves

It's like a punch-drunk strongman trying to attack a crowd. he's not going to win, but he's going to cause a lot of harm before he goes down himself.

Firstly - I am not a warmonger - I am for Muscowy to quit the war it started and leave.

Secondly - what Ukraine needs now is for European countries to step up and give it more weaponry to defend itself.

Everyone OVERESTIMATED the Kremlin’s capabilities - everyone expected them to win in Feb 2022.

But they didn’t - and they haven’t
