ROUND ROCK, Texas —
Two people were killed and multiple others were injured in a shooting during a Juneteenth Celebration Saturday night around 10:50 p.m. in Round Rock, Texas, according to Round Rock Police.
The suspect or suspects responsible for the shooting are still at large. Round Rock Police urge anyone with information about the shooting or video of the shooting to call Round Rock Police at (512) 218-5500.
The shooting began when two groups began fighting with each other near the vendor area during the Round Rock Juneteenth Festival at Old Settler's Park. During the fight, at least one person pulled out a gun and began shooting. Round Rock Police are unsure if there were multiple people shooting during the incident.
Round Rock Police Chief Allen Banks said that the identity of people killed and injured will be revealed later and that information will include the total number of people injured.
Round Rock Police officers and Round Rock Firefighters that were working at the event immediately responded to the shooting, applying tourniquets to the wounded and performing CPR.
Police did not release a description of the suspect. Chief Banks said that there were multiple descriptions of the suspect and different accounts of what happened during the shooting.
Old Settler's Park will be closed Sunday morning.

In Tallahassee, Florida, every time there is a FAMU (historically black college) home game or a big black celebration, all police leaves are cancelled, and every police vehicle is on the road. When you read articles relating to the inevitable shootings, it’s usually a big party and the shooters were not invited.
Here’s my guess. Anytime there’s a large gathering of blacks the street pharmacy entrepreneurs show up because that’s where their clientele is. One pharmacist sees the other pharmacist and decides that guy is pharmacising on HIS territory. A shootout ensues. Usually, the instigators are not harmed because they are essentially posturing with weapons. But bullets go somewhere when they aren’t specifically aimed. You have to read between the lines to figure out what is going on in reality, because stating it as above makes assumptions about blacks that would be racist if stated by an author.
Where I worked, a promising young black man was shot to death at a black bar on a Saturday night about two AM. I asked his coworkers why, knowing he was in the most murdered demographic, would he be in that place at that time. The answer was along the lines of, “He be a young buck. You got to strut your stuff and be seen. You can’t hide your light under a bushel.” That answers the question why you have promising graduates some with job offers in hand, who get shot at events like the ones described.
