Israeli agents — including women — infiltrated into the city of Nuseirat in central Gaza and gathered intelligence for weeks before the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) launched a successful raid on Saturday to rescue four Israeli hostages.
That’s the report from the UK Jewish Chronicle, which published what it said was a detailed account of the rescue mission in which Noa Argamani, 25, Almog Meir Jan, 21, Andrey Kozlov, 27, and Shlomi Ziv, 40, were saved.
The Chronicle reported:
In order to finally verify the information and to prepare the ground for the operation, another team of undercover soldiers (including several women dressed in hijabs and long black dresses) was sent into the Nuseirat refugee camp. Pretending to be two Gazan families looking for a large house in Nuseirat, they arrived in two cheap-looking old cars loaded with domestic items characteristic of those families displaced in the Strip, such as mattresses and clothing identical to those of the locals.

Wow, bravery beyond compare! It would have been sure death if they were found out. Amazing people!
They were found out, and fought bitterly by hundreds of Hamas fighters. All but one of the IDF soldiers got out unharmed and all of the hostages got out unharmed. How that was accomplished under such intense fire is a complete mystery to me, but I have no personal experience with this (military) corner of the world. I’d be grateful for thoughts from the many people on this board who have had such experience.

The head choppers rely on Allah to guide their bullets. For real. Also the ill discipline and incompetence of head chopper military formations are legendary. Sometimes they are effective but usually it’s a mess of incompetence with head chopper units shooting at each other as well as their foes.
This is FAUDA.
I cannot begin to imagine the incredible confusion of that battle. I like how the Israeli Air Force flattened the two homes as soon as the hostages and troops were evacuated.
More akin to the TV show “Fauda”, which is excellent and draws its story lines from real events.
